I think that no one really knows who they truly are because with different people, different places, different situations we all wear a mask of some sort. So it comes to the question, what is your "true"self. Yes we may be good at things and not good at others, know what we like and don't like, but those don't really answer the question. To me this is a question that can't be answered.
"Know Thyself" it's simple but not easy, and we must do it for ourself but we can't do it alone. When we go within and become silent, coming out becomes easier. Often we are too busy to listen to our inner voice, and most of the time ignore and push it away.. once we learn to listen intuitively and expect an answer to come to us, which it comes in many different ways, then from that magical moment we learn about ourself day by day, one feeling at a time and one thought at a time... I am new at this Forum .. enjoy sharing my beliefs, thoughts and experiences. Appreciate and value your time to make a comment. We all learn from each other. I am willing to contribute to this group and love to share my simple life experiences.. Make the rest of your life the best of your life
Im am so loving your comment(Mr.Raphael2001,posted 11/18/2006)you couldn't have said it any better. God has created us beautifully it's really up to us to connect with this beauty we already have with in us. Just had to comment, thanks for your insite.
It is when you are able to be fully authentic with people, that means take off the mask, you will know who you are. As human beings, we are not perfect. To try to be will keep you tightly fit into a box. Growth, development and transformation are what leads to a healthy ability to become stronger, and consciously aware. There, lies a willingness to grow and strengthen yourself. Everyone was blessed with some talent, gift or unique quality. Humble yourself. You will show up differently for different people. The more you give, and reach out to people, the more people will be able to show you who you are for them and how you have contributed to their lives.
HI lanzarote, Are you into socializing these days. Ive been busy looking for someone to marry and guess what I found him. He is from Melbourne and a millionaire too. I got lucky at 40 years old. Hope he can give me 2 kids at this age, hopefull.
The true self is the essence of the individual which is the spirit and thought-process, here lies the root of all people. What we believe about ourselves is who we are, and we usually carry into practice how we see ourselves. Example: When you get your nails done, hair done, car washed, wear new clothes, or admire your appearance, then this makes you talk and act differently. Why? Because we identify with what is important to us, we are what we think.
The Soul is crying for a reality experience which only physical life can give to it. The body is crying for an immortality experience which only the soul can give to it. As you permit this union to fulfill itself, you will directly know what it feels like to be the love that you are."
No one remains the same person throughout life. Perhaps we keep the same likes and dislikes.
Ultimately we grow (hopefully), we mature. We start out life like a blank slate, and each new experience puts a scratch in that slate.
Every new experience (especially major ones) produces a newer more wiser person. Hense the saying "there is no fool like an old fool."
I personally feel as though I'm constantly changing and evolving. I think deep principles I believe in remains consistant to my believes, but I feel open to knowledge and new experiences. Some of what I learn I except, others I accept as being real but just not for "me."

Yes, it is difficult, but you have to be so open with yourself, that you can allow yourself to be seen by yourself without a mask... Then you will know your trueself. You actually do know already, but you have to be brave enough to remove the mask, which is no easy chore.
Once you find your true self, and get to the point that you actually enjoy your true self, then it is more possible to face the world without the masks...
See if this answer helps: are you a soul in a body or a body with a soul. When you discover what is first, you found your answer. A soul with a body is made by G_D a body with a soul was made my some worm that crawled out a swamp a very very very long time ago.
When you discover why your alive you will understand why were not all the same!
A person with no self awareness is a person not sure of self..who only lives in a cloud on uncertainty and for nothing or no one else. A person that has no clear understanding of purpose or the meaning of exploration, who lives off of the reflections of others and imitate instead of procreate...A person unclear of who they are and their own self worth. That person should look deep within to find out why they must question who they are..lost is the soul of a faceless individual..
