How many people actually read the profile before getting to know someone? You never know that person may be, he may be the wealthiest or the nicest person you have ever met. Give people a chance. We are all on here for a reason.
Richard! That is an awesome poem. I can see why you won three times. I write poetry too...and have two poems published and copywrighted. I hope to hear back from you and wish we could hook up. sincerely Broccoli-Ruidoso NM
I got pretty excited when a man instant messaged me yesterday, and he was quoting words to my songs. He had to have done some research to find me. After seeing his website, and calling the bus. phone # on it..it turns out he is a semi-famous personality, and quite talented to boot. I fell out of my chair when i saw his photos. It is uncanny what we have in common, small details of our likes and lives, etc. He knew quite a bit, before he contacted me. No prefab one liners, or delayed responses, this guy knows me. It is flattering to say the least, when someone notices, and acknowledges who you are.
I like to read profiles because I think you can read between the lines about that person. I find it interesting when a person talks about how intelligent they are and describe all of their education yet cannot write. Makes me wonder. I have to disagree with IntelligentBlonde, though. I think if someone puts "no preference," it is not bad. I think it leaves people's options open. I think it's better to decide on what you like with each individual person.

Personally, I am SO impressed by men who comment on my profile that they're the ones I write back to before all others . . . even if I don't find them particularly attractive. They are the ones who deserve consideration of a response, no matter what.
Oh well . . . !
Yep, I agree, I'm new but I did learn that reading what people post reveals more about their personality, sense of humor and how they interact with others. On email though, I had this guy who appeared to have drafted a form letter and copy and pasted it in my email...on the bottom there was a response from a "Deb"...OHHHH OUCH! Boys always edit your correspondance first drafts make it nowhere. LMAO. I mean think about it? If you can't think of something original to say in an email and you have to copy and paste a response, what are you going to be like in person. "Please refer to page two, paragraph 4?" FUN....God, hope I don't post this with type-o's that would be embarr"a*s"ing...

Wasn't there a web site set up by some ladies that did exactly that? They posted their ex boyfriends and husbands, for other ladies to choose from. I seem to remember reading in the paper it was a very popular site, and lots of ladies were pleased with the honesty of it.
Rose., Do u know the name of that site? I think it is wicked and that way no one could say later that they were misled..'caveat emptor', let the buyer beware, should hold true then if u hear it from the horses' mouth or maybe in this case the riders...lol

hey i never read no one's profile until they email me, but i think is good to read it before you start talking to that person just to make sure you know some thinks about him or her....
Hi... not sure if my photo will be posted here as I am brand new to this site. So far I think it's great! Much more fun than a few others I have been on! Love the Forum! I totally agree with 1hotmama about the grammar and spelling. It makes such a huge difference when a man expresses himself in a clear, articulate way and spells correctly. It's a bit rare these days unfortunately.
I always read the profile. I don't care for them when they are too short, because, this is your first insight into this person. However, when they are too long, yikes, I always think , dude has way too much time on his hand! They have to be brief, yet insightful. After all, that is your opportunity to make a first impression.
Yes I read the entire profile and comments too, similar to hotmama. I want as much info I can have on someone before I will email them or look at their profile. When they just leave everything no preference, makes me think they are either desparate and want anyone alive and breathing, or don't want to share anything about themselves. And if they are that uptight to be like that, must be alot worse in person! Make you go hmmmmm eh? PS poet lady nice piece but wrong stream!
The future is silence. Unseen, untold. What is this "silence" mean? Emptyness? Vacuum? May be a different kind of substance? The way to express? Who knows? Who should know?
The future is space. With no start and no end, No volume, no border, No age or colour. Than what it has? And how it could be discerned? Who knows? Who should know?
The future is time. The substance of life, Making it s way from One point to another with Frightening inevitablity. Who knows? Who should know? Will it stop one day or ...?
self proclaim profiles are like CVs..all adverts and should be taken with lots of warning..at best they are colorful..in fact I would suggest we all submit profiles written about us by friends and teachers and employers..like character references ..and I would dare the guy who would submit a profile written by his or her ex-spouse...all need to be taken with a cupful of salt..
Well, your profile most certainly does not fall into the category of not bothering to talk about yourself. It is very refreshing to find someonw so open and honest about their life. Best Wishes to you
