Billy Joel, "Always a Woman": "She can kill with a smile, She can wound with her eyes. She can ruin your faith with her casual lies, And she only reveals what she wants you to see. She hides like a child but she's always a woman to me. She can lead you to love, she can take you or leave you, She can ask for the truth but she'll never believe you, And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free, Yeah she steals like a thief but she's always a woman to me. Oh, she takes care of herself, she can wait if she wants, She's ahead of her time. Oh, and she never gives out and she never gives in, She just changes her mind. And she'll promise you more than the garden of Eden then she'll carelessly cut you and laugh while you're bleeding, But she brings out the best and the worst you can be. Blame it all on yourself cause she's always a woman to me. Oh, she takes care of herself, she can wait if she wants, She's ahead of her time. Oh, and she never gives out and she never gives in, She just changes her mind. She is frequently kind and she's suddenly cruel, She can do as she pleases, she's nobody's fool, But she can't be convicted, she's earned her degree, And the most she will do is throw shadows at you But she's always a woman to me."
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know How to say How I feel
Those three words Are said too much They're not enough
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time Chasing cars Around our heads
I need your grace To remind me To find my own
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am All that I ever was Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where Confused about how as well Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

James Blunt - "I Really Want You"
Many prophets preach on bended knee Many clerics wasted wine Do the bloodied sheets On those cobbled streets Mean I have wasted time
Are there silver shores on paradise? Can I come in from the cold? I killed a man in a far away land My enemy I'm told
I really want you to really want me But I really don't know if you can do that I know you want to know I tried But I know it's so hard for you to do that And time's running out as often it does And often dictates if you can't do that Fate can't break this feeling inside That's burning up through my veins
I really want you I really want you I really want you now
No matter what I say or do The message isn't getting through And you're listening to the sound Of my breaking heart
I really want you I really want you
Is a poor man rich in solitude? Or will mother earth complain Did the beggar pray for a sunny day but Lady luck for rain
They say a million people bow and scrape To an effigy of gold As so life begin And the ship we're in And history unfold
I really want you to really want me But I really don't know if you can do that (I really want you) I know you want to know what's right But I know it's so hard for you to do that (I really want you) And time's running out as often it does And often dictates that you can't do that Fate can't break this feeling inside (now) That's burning up through my veins
I really want you I really want you I really want you now
No matter what I say or do The message isn't getting through And you're listening to the sound Of my breaking heart No matter what I say or do The message isn't getting through And you're listening to the sound Of my breaking heart
It's about a person in a coma. It moves you, especially if you've ever had a person that has been in a similar situation. I recommend that you download the song. It is my absolute favorite.
The clock that ticks through the entire song as she sings about how she is slowly fading away... it's beautiful. The song always reminds me of those dear to me that I've lost or nearly lost.
i could post a lot of lyrics here, so i'm just going to say most of james blunt's songs.. this one probably has the most impact (especially(sp?) if you know the story. No Bravery: There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, Tears drying on their face. He has been here. Brothers lie in shallow graves. Fathers lost without a trace. A nation blind to their disgrace, Since he's been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. (repeat)
Houses burned beyond repair. The smell of death is in the air. A woman weeping in despair says, He has been here. Tracer lighting up the sky. It's another family's turn to die. A child afraid to even cry out says, He has been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. (repeat)
There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, But no one asks the question why, He has been here. Old men kneel to accept their fate. Wives and daughters cut and raped. A generation drenched in hate. Says he has been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness.
Mark Knopfler, "Storybook Love" [Theme to "The Princess Bride"]
Come my love, I'll tell you a tale, Of a boy and girl, and their love story, And how he loved her oh so much, And all the charms she did possess.
Now, this did happen, once upon a time, When things were not so complex, How he worshipped the ground she walked, And when he looked in her eyes he became obsessed.
My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel, My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel, It's as real as the feelings I feel.
This love was stronger than the powers so dark, A prince could have within his keeping, His spells to weave and steal a heart Within her breast but only sleeping.
My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel, My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel, It's as real as the feelings I feel.
Now he said, "Don't you know I love you oh so much, And lay my heart at the foot of your dress?" She said, "Don't you know that these storybook loves, Always have a happy ending?" Then he swooped her up, just like in the books, And on his stallion they rode away.
My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel, My love is like a storybook story, But it's as real as the feelings I feel.
