For a first date, I like to keep things simple and relaxed. My ideal date would be having a cup of coffee while walking along the beach in Carmel. It’s the perfect setting to get to know someone without the distractions of a loud restaurant or bar. Walking side by side makes conversation feel effortless, and the beautiful ocean views create a calm, comfortable atmosphere. If we’re enjoying each other’s company, we can keep walking, stop to watch the waves. To me, the best first dates are about making a genuine connection, sharing a few laughs, and seeing where the conversation naturally takes us.

For me, the best first dates are simple, thoughtful, and give us a chance to genuinely get to know each other. I enjoy a great dinner, a cozy wine bar, riding bikes, boating, a walk with the dogs, exploring a farmers market, or grabbing ice cream and watching the sunset. I’m much more interested in meaningful conversation and a real connection than an elaborate date. If we can laugh, enjoy each other’s company, and leave excited to see one another again, I’d call that the perfect first date.
