How will President Obama go down in History, ... both on the home front and globally ?

Although some of you may feel the question is premature, however, with the spotlight now on Hillary Clinton, the global thinking is that Obama’s term is pretty much over.

Granted, there could be some unforeseen events during the remainder of his term, that may add to the final consensus.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, what are your thoughts if you had to write them today?

Thanks for your consideration in history making.

Well... I don't think Obama came into his Presidency as a Liberal President. He was immediately challenged with millions losing their jobs due to  the Great Recession(Too Big To Fail Scandal). He was immediately hammered by the Tea Party due to the pervasive Insurance Market, and Hospital Costs. 2 theaters of War were on his plate, also. I'me pretty confident that the GOP wished to dump it's past on Obama, thinking he would fail(first Melano President)...

The question is, What is the impact of these Directives, Tweets, and Narratives he uses on some of his Campaign Sweeps that cater to his Trumpeteer's, as President...

Hi Stan, It's always good to see you.

The sad part about Former President Obama's Legacy is that, an enormous amount of time, energy and resources have been,  and continue to be channelled in attempts to destroy all His positive efforts, as a Humanitarian Leader.

Obviously, much of that is based on pure Prejudice, as none of those who continue making defamatory claims against Him, have neither offered, nor produced an ounce of factual evidence, to renounce their personal Biases.

Perhaps  ' 4EverLoyal ' may have been as confused as I was, about pretending to be one of them.

Not an easy task, in real life.

I would look at the popularity of a President after office, for a factor. Obama can get $500,000 for a speaking engagement. The Alt-Right wants to take away his Pension, and his Security Detail for that...

~~  Leonicvirgo  ~~

It's not surprising, for jealous minded people,  to want to take away, what one has legitimately earned.

The truth is, the income from those speaking engagements, will go towards good causes, like education,  scolarship funds that, will benefit the children and families of those very same jealous folk.

The amount earned should not be a factor, but rather, what one does with those earnings, assuming it is considered to be in the public domain.

Hi Silverlion! Thank you for your welcoming comments :).

I dont mind brainwashed people. It's actually quite fun to pretend to be brainwashed with them. You should try it sometime. Nothin' like water boarding yourself to get extremists to take it down a notch. Tehe.

JoeJoe is welcome to his perspective. It just would've been nice to read some claims supported by sources or even rational elaboration. Unfortunately, JoeJoe's measure of merit is contingent upon one's orifice of preference.

Besides...who wouldnt prefer sword fights over nuclear war?

Cheers! It's hump day :).

It also saves a lot of bother when you don't want to get caught in another deadly political discussion that will not change anyone's mind.

I think that the further away from the Obama Era we get, coupled with the analysis of parts of his 8 years of admin. will show that he had some tough decisions to make, with a Congress impeding him(Gang of 48), much like it is now with the Dem's(Goose-Gander effect). What are the HallMark's of his Admin, both Positive,Negative, and that Grey Area in-between. Historian's have snapshoted Obama as the 12th most distinguished President in History...http://www.businessinsider.com/the-top-20-presidents-in-us-history-according-to-historians-2017-2/#20-george-h-w-bush-1... We are in the infant stage of Historical Value.

As to FJ's incendiary comments... He's definitely an Alt-Right Fringe. These type of people rarely do research, and follow whatever demeans the former Admin. He would rather hang onto the STUPID IDEAS of the 40% of VOTERS he aligns himself with. These folks want to charge Obama for TREASON for Uranium-1(GMAB), And all of the LIES that our Current President Perpetuates. How's that Mueller Investigation working out for you,FJ. AYE?...(:LV1:)

Thanks for your entertaining post.   I have been thinking about your suggestion, to pretend being brain-washed, along with those who are.

At the back of my mind, I seriously doubt if my conscience would allow it, although I'm willing to give it a try.

Back to the topic :  President Obama had visited Paris this past week-end, where He received standing ovations throughout The City.

The media here, likened Obama as a Macron ' True Twin Brother ' (vrai jumelle).  Together, they have an enormous amount of respect as ' The ' World Leaders, and their compassion towards humanity, climate matters, peace, etc.

With all due respect to those, who are vulnerable and unfortunately afflicted, with the illness of hatred.

Your honesty, in stating that the above quoted opinions are of a third party, is appreciated.  To help you better understand politics, ... They are pretty worthless, based on the following facts :

1.  Preisdent Obama was elected into office by diverse citizens, to economically rescue The Country which was in a seriously deep recession, along with it's many related problems.

He successfully accomplished that.

The 44th POTUS did Not Campaign, nor was He elected to magically solve a vague and ambiguous " divide " those critics mention.

2.  To create Affordable Health Care, was a battle in Capitalist America, coupled with political hurdles from the opposition.

President Obama's humanitarian efforts and accomplishments in this area , Is A Historical First.

For anyone to dis-respect or denounce such, without offering an acceptable practical alternative, is the highest form of insult.

3.  To place blame on President Obama for The Syrian Refugee Crisis, simply has No Merit.  The Assad Regime, goes back to 1963, (Barack Obama was 2 years old) when Hafez al-Assad was involved in The Syrian Coup d' Etat that brought The Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party into power.

In a second coup 3 years later, The Ba'ath Party was toppled by a militant Salah Jadid, and in 1970 Assad who was their defence minister, toppled Jadid to gain control as the leader of Syria.

(Barack Obama now 7 years of age)

Hafez al-Assad sided with the Soviets in The Cold War, and began " One Man Rule " with a personality cult.

Upon Hafez's death in 2000, His Son Bashar succeeded him, to continue as Supreme Leader.

The turmoil from 1963 persisted all along.

In 2011, defectors from Assad's military, joined forces with the " Free Syria " Army, causing Bashar's regime to begin killing thousands internally.  Just as in 1982 (Barack Obama 22 yeasr of age) when they massacred over 10 thousand to maintain power.

The situation became very complicated, with the joining in of Kurdish Nationals, Hezbollah, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Al-Qaida and ISIS over the years.

As you may know, an extremist Iraqi group moved into Syria, creating ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)

Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama did the absolute right thing, Not to intervene militarily, in an extremely volatile and potential World War 111 Situation.   There is No shortage of military arsenal in Syria, due to oil money on the one hand, and Russia on the other.

The Middle East Wars, are Not The Responsinility of The U.S.A.

Thank You President Obama, for Not Sacrificing A single Life, of Those in Service.

Silverlion.

i see your point SL with Syria. Truly, Obama was at a crossroad many Presidents face. Obama had already threatened Assad with military action with his use of Chemical Warfare on his citizens- A line drawn in the sand. Obama had no backing from the Allies, and/or the American People. Still, this is a crime against humanity, meant to inflict maximum casualties on Assad's own citizens. There was also talk of creating a NO-Fly Zone over Syria at that time. Given that this would have created another Theater Of Action; It would have opened up targets held by ISIS, and a New, Protracted Conflict Zone for the American Military. I should not have to comment that the Russians were colluding with Assad through this. Assad was,and is just a Chess Piece on the Russian Chessboard. Assad is still on the list for Crimes Against Humanity.

On another subject, This Uranium-1 fiasco perpetrated by the extreme Alt-Right against Obama is an attempt to smear Obama's Administration. Truly, under NRC RULES, NO US Uranium was transferred to Russia,or any other Country In The World without an EXPORT LICENSE. Not even Obama could do that, without Severe Scrutiny...http://www.factcheck.org/2017/10/facts-uranium-one/... The US does LICENSE a company in Ontario Canada to upgrade Yellow Cake for US use, separate from Uranium-1.

Well...I think the Syrian Pass coupled with the Iran Deal were not long-term solutions...https://www.hoover.org/research/consequences-obamas-weakness... Obama positioned a flotilla of warships off of the East Coast of the Mediterranean. Obama should have rained down Tomahawks on Damascas, and obliterated Assad's capabilities to kill millions of his Citizens with Chemical, as well as other Bombs intended to exert Maximum Destruction, and Casualty counts. Truly, the other Allies, and the American People were not with the US Military on this, But that's a choice the President must make...

The Iran Deal should have been much more stringent. Iran was already under the threat of Israel bombing their Nuclear Production Sites. I wrote in a blog that the Iran Deal should have been over a 72 year period of time. That is 4 Generations, not 1-. What are the intentions of the Iranian's? You Decide...

Pardon the delay, while I wallowed in the comments of FJ & Joe, hoping they would seize an opportunity to justify their claims.  But of course, ....

Getting back to seriousness, I also spent some time reading through the ' research ' you had mentioned, in the above quote.  It was written in Sept. of 2015, and found a subsequent one, in July of 2016.  They are merely biased opinions, from an established 'conservative' think tank.

May I direct you to my post of February 01, 2017 wherein I addressed the Syrian situation with detailed facts.

President Obama and The Allies did the prudent thing, as there was no magical ' silver bullet ' panacea, for such complexity.

Fact : A summit meeting is taking place today, with all the concerned leaders,  to end The Syrian War.

Dont worry, JoeJoe...gay isn't exactly contagious, and neither is black. You can really only catch it if you try really hard OR if you think about it incessantly. So just don't give it too much thought lest wake up one morning a gay black man with a penis twice the size the one you have now. Take it easy, JoeJoe. Take it easy.

It's kinda tragic in a way, but then again, Comedy is always born from tragedy.
