I think that romance in relationships is really important. I've read several studies that say couples that last the longest make date nights a priority. Also, I think getting away on a romantic trip is important, too.

Here are my top romantic getaway ideas:

Book a Hotel in Town

I've always thought being a tourist in your own is very romantic. It's also much easier to make this happen if you have kids in the mix. Getting a sitter for a few days is difficult, but if you can get one for an overnighter, then you can have a romantic night away.

House Swap

This isn't something I've ever done, but I've heard of house swapping for a night. That's when you and a friend trade homes for a day. If you are low on funds, it could be cost effective to switch houses with them. Of course, you would have to go over the ground rules of where you want your friends to sleep in your house and vice versa. It probably goes without saying, but these would have to be really close friends to do this.

Find Cheap Flights and Get Away

I've been surprised at how cheap flights can be. If you don't have a particular location you are trying to go, you can grab flights for less than $100 per person. Combine that with a private Air BNB rental and you won't spend a whole lot more than booking a fancy hotel in town.

Just need to bring lingerie and an imagination to make the getaway perfect.

Quoting Kasiagrand:

Hahaha yeah, seems like a lot of people think house swapping isn't a good idea. I have friends I would do that with, but not everyone would be interested in that! :D

@ Kasiagrand ,

Will gonna freak out if somebody get through my clothes and

other personal things ..there are women who are too curious.

They don't only look but also touch and tried it ..

Motel/Hotel & flights, house swapping is great idea too if both parties can be trusted to respect one another's homes.

Weekend getaways are like gold for a relationship. When you get sucked into your daily life, it can make drifting away from your lover very easy.

It makes sense that getting away from things for even a short time can be a real blessing for your relationship. Our lives are so busy, with work weeks easily lasting sixty & seventy hours. You also are contending with your loved one's own long hours, and don't even mention the overabundance of activities your kids are involved in. It's no wonder that finding a little bit of time to simply cuddle on the couch & watch a cute rom-com is nearly impossible.

To be honest, this idea of the romantic getaway could be really helpful!!
