"I love the way you seduce me, she said to me.." but that was some time ago.

So what really happened to us, humans? I think we have completely redefined the true art of seduction and in its current form, it has taken a completely new definition altogether in a really bad way. takes away all the romance out of the relationship altogether.

By book definition and in Modern English, seduction means, "Seduction, with its prefix se-, "aside", means basically "lead aside or astray". In Hawthorne's novel The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne is forced to wear a large scarlet A, for "adulteress", after it is revealed that she's been seduced by the Reverend Dimmesdale.

Seduction also takes less physical forms. Advertisements constantly try to seduce us (often using sex as a temptation) into buying products we hadn't even known existed."

For me whispering _____ words to your partners that can only be shared between two true lovers is pure seduction (No sexting doesn't count young ladies that is freaking lame and boring :)

What's interesting that the definition of word seduction in other cultures and languages totally deviates from how we perceive its meaning in our society.

Seduction was a form of an art and it was practiced by many civilizations (still by few today) in the form of music, poetry, letters and just using the eyes and the body language to seduce their partners in forming an ultimate unbreakable bond between the two people.

It appears it has been replaced by wealth, fancy cars, showing body assets and brand name possessions.

So what does the word seduction really means to you and how important it is in your relationship?

I agree, in so many ways relationships have become dehumanized.   From daily interaction to the deep connection between friends or lovers.  As society relies more and more on social media and online presence for convience it is sacraficing far greater things.  Even each of us here on this site hoping for such convience, or luck play into it.  The art of seduction is a great dance, the blooming of a unseen flower, the rising of the sun as the darkness turns each day into differnt hues of light before it is easy to view the world.  I believe in the lost arts.  Writing letters, hugs, physically reaching out to a stranger.  All and all the deepest connections indulge in seduction and yield the best lovers and friends.

Nice!, I am glad to see that there are still people out there that can articulate their thoughts in such a poetic manner.

I agree, forget about finding the love of your life, finding true friends is almost impossible. I am lucky that I have friends that date back 25+ years but I do feel bad for my son and the young generation. They are going to have such a hard time really enjoying the true innocence and the beauty of human intimacy, love, affection, care, feeling of being wanted and so on. We seriously need to re vitalized social values in our societies outside the umbrella of organized institutions to avoid further divisions among humans in the name of ethnicities, skin tones, religions, cultures, languages etc.

The best use of the internet is that it provides all human being the opportunity to reach out to anyone and everyone, which was not possible in old days. Let's make the best use of this technology how it was intended to be used.

Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night

I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.

I run one hand up her long neck
Just touching her makes me euphoric

Across her body, my right hand goes
I've been practicing, believe me, it shows.

Another deep breath, the tension mounts
Have to stay focused, every moment counts
I am ready let’s get movin'
Here it goes, we both start groovin'.

I start out slow to get in the swing
As I do she starts to sing
The sounds and feelings grow more immense
The movements, become more intense.

She screams and screams, while I am gropin'
My heart stops as I see the door open
My mom walks in and with a frown
Says, Your guitar is too loud, please turn it down.

Greetings and salutations peeps!  I just popped in to check on everything.  Yep….my mailbox is empty.  I wish I still had time to play…but life happens and I am only one human pulling the wagon.  I’m still working on the house….but it’s getting close.  Only a few more thousand dollars to spend!  *sigh*

Hmmm….So this is one of my favorite topics.  While I agree, seduction is a lost art….it’s difficult to say exactly what it is because different things seduce different people differently…at different times and at different places in their life.  What used to seduce me when I was 27….generally no longer works.  Although, I must say, I still yearn for those old times …..some times.  :) *wink*

Speaking strictly from a woman’s point of view, a woman cannot be seduced if she is backing up.  Just like you cannot catch a fish trying to wack it with a baseball bat.  The trick is to get her leaning forward…..wanting!  If she’s not leaning forward wanting that first kiss….wait!  It’s not time yet.  Maybe the time will not come, but you must be patient and use that time to figure out how to make her lean forward.  Better to lose, than to be rebuffed.  At least you still have your dignity…..and there are always other fish.

Welcome back, Diana. I hope your house remodeling project will come to an end soon so you can relax and enjoy some time off and perhaps go fishing soon :)

I think every intelligent man would agree with your woman's perspective on when a man must stop, how far one must learn to initiate the likeness process. Some time ago, a fine lady (yes I did got the Kiss) told me a trick. She said, "if you are out on a date, and if the woman starts to play with her hair after a while, or initiates the first body contact, it's a clear sign that you have the partial green flag". Where to go from there? it's all between two ears of a person to be creative and build on it :)

In my humble opinion getting a lady turned on mentally, it's an art, and if a man understands that part, rest is easy.

It's interesting what you said about how age plays a factor in the seduction process. I think your observation is probably more accurate towards the females than males. Not sure. I think men, in general, are single track minded most of their lifetime till they reach puberty, sorry I mean old age. I know Hugh Hefner will disagree with me :)

I personally think two people should never ever stop dating each other even if they get married, or have kids etc. etc. Treating your partner almost the same way as one did during the dating process (time off from kids) keeps the fire going, and the art of seduction evolves on mutual grounds as our needs and desires changes over time.

Quoting NiceEyes:

Seduction is an art-form, it manifests in the mind,  stems from the heart, you have to be in-tune with one another to experience its explosive power of your senses Funtimes0007,  It is important on an erotic level if you want to experience that tingly feeling throughout, but you equally can be seduced into doing something you would not normally do if caught up in the moment, so you have to be in a state of alertness to what fits with your own conscience so as not to regret what you might later.

Nice summary NiceEyes :)

i guess the difference between lust and seduction which is often confused by many is that lust is a short term pleasure of body and mind. On the other hand seduction requires the trust between two parties. Without trust, there will never be any seduction only lust between the two.

Seduction just the word itself, is mouth watering. Done well is poor excitement.

@Rosepaddle2016 - This is an interresting way to describe it for sure.

Please expand on the later part of your comment. I am curious where would it lead to if its not over done :)

I think we've lost the art of seduction because we are all in a hurry all the time- to where- I don't know.  We no longer take time to nurture relationships (all forms)

I agree. Besides in a hurry all the time there are several other factors such as Internet dating (abundance of choices with almost zero effort and click of a mouse to go NEXT), Media has redefined beauty and seduction and brought it down to its lowest level and finally the good old beast, "wealth" it has been glamourized to the point of no return.

The Voice Of Seduction
by Mark Acciard

It was another lonely evening
In another lonely bar
When across the crowded gathering
I see, there you are
Intoxicating beauty and grace and poise
Seemingly unaffected by the crowd and the noise
I watched you deflect suitors by the dozen
Hovering about and stalking you like a coven
I sat and we talked and I no longer had a choice
Uncommon beauty and a lively intelligence
A rare combination beneath such a lovely countenance
And, oh lord, such an exquisite voice
Low and breathy, full of promise
The voice of seduction
Eroticism, witticism, full of compassion
A voice that prompts thoughts of
Nights of wild abandon
Of full moons.... Above warm tropical rains
Of long moonlit walks on the sands
Of fine wines and candlelit dinners
Of mountain log cabins with crackling fires
Of romantic destinations, nights filled by sighs
A woman whose conversation is an event
Intelligent, inventive, romantic, and heaven-sent
Knowledgeable about so many subjects
With a voice that entrances sweet and direct
A woman's maturity and a little girl's innocence
Simple naivete and seductive temptress
A complex woman without a doubt
A siren perhaps, singing to tout
Chivalry, sensitivity, and romance
Qualities begging for enhancement
In men the world over
Therefore the key to this maiden of myth
Is to make sure that she is never bereft
Of the qualities she so richly deserves
Do this to ensure that her love will be preserved.

I can imagine Mongols, yaks, and prayer flags. So lovely! Hope you keep sharing such interning and beautiful photos - it's like receiving a postcard! ❤

Egypt was another great place to visit. i watched so many documentaries before I visited Egypt till I stood next to the pyramids and came to realization that no documentary can really give you the true feeling of what it's like to stand next to these amazing architecture marvels. I bribed the security guy and actually lay down in one of the tombs and he took a picture of me lol. Yeah that was back in late 80s and 25 dollars can go a long way back then. Next to Nile there are two Sheraton hotels. Great place to stay.

I wish I can visit South America. It's so unsafe there else I would have been there by now. May be one day before I die.

Nepal? Bhutan? You are so right, I have no idea but looks so serene!

Close...this lake is Safel Maluk, same region as Nanga Parbat. There are several other amazing places in that part of world. So difficult to get there..take a lot to explore that region.

In winter time;

Breathtaking! So beautiful! I love the feel of sailing; warm sun, cool breeze, dense water lifting a ship along, wind 8n the sails, and the sense of peace, serenity. Hope I see it in person someday. Day races out to the Channel Islands wetted my appetite...Sounds like you have seen beauty in several places. Where is your next inspiration?

I have the priviledge to visit some of the most beautiful places on this planet earth.

Some so difficult to reach that you have to walk 3 days to get there. For this lake, I had walk with my back pack, over a an ice glacier (thousands of years old), at the tender age of 16 to reach this lake. 10,000 ft above sea level. Caught a trout and ate it...lol

No way can you guess where this picture was taken :)

Hint: Asia :)
