Being a black, Caribbean whom happens to be attracted to white men or very dark men, I find it so incredibly hard to find what im looking for in my location (predominately white). Im very straightforward and have no problems in expressing my interest but I just can't gauge the vibes in my area. In Miami, I have no problems but here in northern Florida I cant tell if they think I wont be attracted to them cuz im black or if they aren't attracted or open minded to dating outside their race. Lol am I crazy for feeling short changed here? Any tips? help!

Quoting Good2BTheKing:

Obviously, it's a complicated issue. I have dated a black Caribbean woman, Chinese women, and Latina women. I've met black women who won't date black men, Asian women who won't date Asian men, and Latina women who won't date Latino men. I've known minority women who will only date men within their own minority. I've known white women who prefer black men, and white women who will only date Latino men.

I would be willing to date a black woman again but, because of prior experience, I worry that if I break up with them, they will think it was because of their race even if I tell them the reason was something else. I don't know if Asian or Latina women feel this way also. There are plenty of reasons I am not attracted to particular white women that have nothing to do with race. Those same reasons can apply to black women.  The lesson from this is that if a man is not attracted to you, it may be because of race but it could also be a hundred other reasons, the same reasons he won't date particular women in his own race.

Good2beTheKing,

it comes to our race .We don't even think about it .We are just

Blame it on men's individual taste and choices , not personally .

I agree. It appears to be guys on all dating sites are so stuck on this superficial image of their type of female they ignore real ladies on site and in public. Smh

Must admit being the only white person in a theater full of black people watching 12 years a slave was not entirely comfortable.

No, not taboo in the greater Washington DC area.  Not in the outlier towns either.
