So I've been sick the past few days . . . waking up unable to talk, sore throat, little bit of coughing. So I went to the doctor to see what's up. He said he didn't think it was strep, maybe just a virus, but tested for strep anyway. As it turns out, I tested positive for strep. He goes on to tell me that he has seen many cases recently where it doesn't appear to be strep, but it is. Just a heads up for everyone during the cold and flu season! :)

you know, *this user is not available* (sorry, no name appeared) when I got the strep test, the doctor showed me the strip. there are supposed to be two pink lines if you test positive. kinda like an ept, hahaha! ok, anyway, he said i was positive, and i'm looking at it thinking didn't he say 2 pink lines? i only see one. so i ask, and he points to where i should see it. it was so faint it was barely visible. i think that many doctors get so rushed they don't really take the time to look. they want to assume it's something simple.

also, so many people out there want to sue doctors if they misdiagnose. while i believe that it is their professional duty, anyone should be able to see that tests aren't 100% and treatment isn't 100% and the worst is that some illnesses are just plain hard to diagnose. patients can have symptoms of hundreds of different diseases and it might be the common cold mixed with too much stress!
