@DRKEVIN2000 how we percive depends on our experiences in Life. But that doesnt mean It cant be changed. Being aware of how we percieve things IS the first step towards changing that.

- Good point. EQ or EI is not the only factor in determining one's level of success in life. There are a lot of other variables that come into play. I would propose that individuals would be even more successful with higher EQ.

Most high achievers that I meet appear to lack EQ!

- You are right...we are talking about managing how you perceive another's emotion, which takes the highest level of Emotional Intelligence, according to the Ability-Based model.

I don't believe that meant to control people but manage how you perceive another's emotions.

- Yes, having a high level of sensitivity to how others are feeling can be tough, especially if the other person turns on you. The world is not always a kind place for kind souls... especially the dating world.

- Equality of mind and heart definitely fits into high EI. For one thing, a lack of it with set off emotional triggers in team members...and understandably so. Thank you for taking time to respond.

Emotional intelligence is also interacting with others on an equal level. Behind one of the group members who is productive for the common goal.

- Great question! I prefer to use the word "manage" rather than "control." Also, let me put the disclaimer out, emotions are complex, because they are primarily housed in the most complex human organ...the brain.

Love that concept can humans control their emotions 100% of the time??? What about crying??? How about laughing??? those are emotions too? Should you control or surprise those?
