- Very true. Emotions can hijack our thoughts. All it takes is the wrong person at the right time...and our emotions can override rational thinking. My guess is everyone on this site has experienced it multiple times. I know I have.

- I totally agree! That's magical... especially if you "catch lightning in a bottle." High EI can help sustain it. Unfortunately, most of us on this site have experienced or demonstrated low EI & the relationship ended...I am guilty.

- Second point...you are walking on thin ice (as a hockey fan). Am I "managing" your emotions as I manage my responses to your emotional feedback? I would say, "Yes."

Of course you cannot manage anyone's emotions, rather you can manage your actions to elicit desirable reactions....for the most part anyway.

Agreed. Emotional intelligence requires great self awareness as well as insight and empathy. I believe empathy and life experience contribute to one's degree of emotional intelligence providef how aware they are of their emotions.

- Well, you are definitely taking us to a deeper level with consciousness & the source of our thoughts & feelings. The brain is the last human frontier. There is so much we don't understand. Speaking of not understanding, what is AH?
