That the person you thought you had chemistry with online, was very different when you met in person?

I have come to realize true chemistry comes from meeting face to face. I have been disenchanted so many times.

I'm still status quo about the friendship. I'm not sure if I want to take it to another level, but I will keep you informed, if there are any changes.
Thanks for everything!

I'm so sorry to hear about the "no show." Unbelievable!

My evening with my friend goes like this......
We had a good crowd on Saturday.
I have this way of conjoling. heheee...
I decided on a game of 'truth or dare' frisbee. If someone dropped
the frisbee they had to kiss someone of the opposite sex.
Somebody dared him to kiss me, he walked over and planted one on my lips. It was clearly a longer kiss than the other gals he had kissed.
Everybody of course did their  "ew...awe"...."uh huh"...
I turned red and blew it off. I didn't want to read anything into it.
For me.."status quo". I vacillate back and forth.
I'm not sure what he is thinking as he is pretty quiet.
As I mentioned before,  we are going to a concert in Aug.
I don't know if we will see each other before hand.
What do you glean from this experience?

Hi Lostinthe70's,

When you get the chance, I hope you will share about your evening with your friend.
As for my own update...Chemistry online can come so easy...but face to face takes one self out of your comfort zone.
Bottom line.....  both of you have to truly want to take the steps to meet,  the possibility of discovering  "Chemistry" between you is exciting,  and you both desire "the" relationship that will end the countless winks, emails and first dates or maybe even the outside chance of meeting someone in a public place.

I didn't get that face to face, for whatever reason, which, frankly doesn't matter..he was a "no show".
I don't have any doubt that someday, the right man, will step into my life, most likely when I'm not looking.  Therefore, I will continue to pray for another conversation that flows with ease...it's not flowery or forced with "ha ha's" because we want to show were upbeat.  We will simply "Click".  We both will want to step out of our comfort zone to "show up".
The bottom line is that until you meet face to face..how do you know if he or she is the one you don't want to live without.

What I can do for myself in the future?  Try not to entertain the consuming thoughts about what would be appropriate to wear  :),   or if taking the time to meet a stranger long distance is worth the chance... and now added to the list, wondering if he is going to be a "no show",  ruin the simple ease of meeting the next one, who could be "the one".  :)

Hello Mtnsunny,
Thank you for the response. What a trip! You lived in SLC!
I love Park City and go there often. I've wanted to try the wine and food festival.
This concert happens to be in Sandy, UT.
It's a great 70's easy rock, line up. It's called Sail Rock 2013
Christopher Cross
Gary Wright
Firefall
Orleans
John Ford Coley
Robbie Dupree
Player
I love outdoor Summer concerts. This is going to be a great one!
I will let you know how it goes with the friend. I'm still kind of apprehensive.

Quoting lostinthe70s:

@ Mtnsunny...I have met 3 great men off this site. They rolled out the red carpet for me, but there wasn't any love connection.

There were many variables as to why we couldn't connect.
One of the guys was not able to show affection due to something that happened in his childhood. Affection is important to me.
The other guy, I felt, wasn't being completely honest.

The latest one of 3 weeks ago, seemed more interested in being intimate than getting to know me. He stuck his tongue down my throat the moment I opened the door.
*WOW..you have a great memory about my male friend.
I will actually see him on Saturday. We are both hosting a singles BBQ at his new house. I'm going to see how that plays out.
We are also going to see Christopher Cross and Gary Wright at an outdoor concert in August.
*Good luck to you and I hope you will report back.

Is that one of the concerts their having up in Park City?   I have always wanted to go to the Jazz festival there, what a beautiful area, especially in the fall. I lived in Salt Lake as a young child.  Dated a man for 5 years who also lives in the Salt Lake area...you guys have the corner on the most beautiful state.
Wow...nothing like a instant turn off with number three.
I'm hoping the best for you and your male friend...that would be the perfect scenario in my opinion.  That's tomorrow...good luck to you also. :)

@ Orlando...Do you talk on the phone with these gals before you meet them in person or keep it online up until the meeting?
Was it you, that didn't feel it, or both?

Answer: Yes.  Many times I thought it was going to be great and then it turned out to be zilch when we met.
