Dave Barry once said, "Scientists now believe that the primary biological function of breasts is to make males stupid."  With that said, I have noticed that this site has lots of ample cleavage showing.  Not that I'm complaining, but what is the REAL purpose of flaunting one's boobs?

well it's a quintessentially feminine emblem so I don't find it surprising that some men find breasts attractive (not necessarily with regards to the size). Just my cent :)

Breasts are historically shown to show sexual availability.  Being the more you showed, the more eager a woman is advertising for engagement.  Men hardly are expected wear tight britches to show off his extent of manliness, unless of course your looking for the size of his wallet bulging through his pocket resting on his touch.  Seriously, I was at one time in Fashion Design and studied historical clothing.  Breast are a the mantle of femininity and today, by far, we show less than lets say the 1600's.  The rage at about 1630's somewhere in Europe was a neckline that showed the half moon of the Ariela.  Today, I think were somewhat silly about the importance of breasts.  At the very least it should be saved for special occasions and not for buying a good deal in the Meat section in Whole Foods.

A man recently told me " I'm a Boob guy" And in taking casual surveys. if find that most men
will cop to a certain area of the anatomy as a magnet of sorts. And this is fair, because we women
play that fun game too. We can be ass-women, chest, legs, eyes, hands you name it. Me I like a deep
voice. A square jaw. Grr. We're animals, designed to get together. I think our maker was very artistic
in how S/He added sexy details so we'd notice eachother. Oh, I have an ample bust, and I pretty much
winced at that guys choice of words. I'd think we'd rather be SHOWN your appreciation for some of our
assets, more than hearing that our boobs were on your check list. MEN!

I guess women do it, because men like it. What other reason could there be?
A woman of class don't have to do that.

Orlando,

It's a fine line between crass and class! Knowing the difference and keeping on the straight and narrow is the key. Too much flesh is never classy.....and if a woman is interested in attracting a classy man, then it is obvious that booby traps won't be the right choice of weapon.....JMHO.

On the flip side, breast milk protects babies from infections and makes them super intelligent, so it's not all bad, LOL!

Liv.

I'm big busted and I don't display them for the world to see.
If I have to show cleavage or half my breasts to get noticed, then I don't want that kind of man.

Why do you think strip clubs say, "Girls, Girls, Girls" ? Men have to be knocked over the head sometimes to take notice.

Ok, for some of us who have a larger chest sometimes it is harder to contain the "girls".  Sometimes I am not looking to show them off but there is only so much that can hold them. LOL  I will say though that the internet has made men say things they would not otherwise say in person.  For example I do have a pic that it looks like me every day and I looked good in it. Now, the shirt does show some cleavage and I had messages from men saying "nice boobs," "nice t*ts", "Can I have my face in there?", "Take the shirt off I want to see all of them", just all kind of rude comments to make to a woman.  It did help me a little to weed out the jerks from the good guys who saw me for more than my chest.  Sometimes I feel the internet we get braver to say things we wouldn't tell someone in person. It is sort of sad we are losing the tact and respect for people we would talk to in person because we are behind a screen.

Well, I have to say, certain attire can be flattering on a woman. Women want to feel attractive. I think that is why we as women wear certain attire.

However, I do believe that if you want a man to take you seriously it may not be good to reveal too much of your body on the first date. You can look hot and cover the goodies.

I think it's MM. They put the honeys on the first pages. Also look at any profile and at the bottom there are those honeys again. It's a tease. A nice tease, but still a tease!

Lot's of men didn't act like gentleman and didn't pay attention to deserving women so that women got confused what to do to get that guy. but it's (showing cleavage) can get a playboy for a day or week. I can't stand when anyone's chest isn't covered. You r not serious if you attracted to skin and you distant yourself from a soulmate by following some shameless idiot.

So how a girl with substance makes a gentleman to write to her?

It's good that people are relaxed but don't bother classy lady when you imagine boobs. If 49yo man searches only for 19 yo then it's obvious he doesn't look at her brains so it's men's fault that some women so shameless.
