Dating role reversal - do women have to email the men? Message Board

MM is a weird site.  On most dating sites, men usually email the women but it seems here, that the woman has to make the initial introduction.  I've winked at numerous men and haven't gotten many replies.  It seems men here want to be pursued, since the wealth factor makes them unique.

Just wondering if my experience is an anomaly or the norm.

That's right. This website is very strange. On other websites I got hundreds of letters from men. Here I don't have any. I was thinking why and came to evident conclusions. Most of men on this website are also looking for rich females. They write only to those who submit there higher incomes in their profiles. Even old and bad looking guys here are trying their chances to scam and get some profit from more or less wealthy women. This is very sad.

I would say that the men wouldn't mind being chased. But, just as women have the right not to reply to those they're not interested, men have the same right. I try to answer most emails. But, if I don't see any possibility at all, I'm likely not to.

I do agree that as a woman, we should be able to make first contact.  However, I have sent emails and have received no response.  So it makes me wonder if men still prefer to do the chasing.....

If you're interested, make your move, no matter what gender.

If I read an email I like. I will send an email. If i don't get a response, as move along. I try to respond to every email I receive, because I think its polite. I appreciate when someone response to my email even it's not the response I looking for.....

I don't think there is anything wrong with a woman initiating contact. I have male friends who never initiate contact so I figure if I want to find someone then I have to at least reach out a bit.

I think to get the optimum success from this site you need to initiate contact.

Personally I never would  but if one has no problem with it then they should go for it.

There are so many women on this site it isn't possible to email everyone or know where they are located.  A profile can be buried deep in the bowels of MM.  So, it helps to email if you have an interest.  Otherwise, we might be oblivious to who is out there.

Sometimes men will make the first move cause they like something they see in your profile. Really? Actually it is the same almost everywhere you go on the web. If you ladies see something you like it is very common to send him an introduction. Let him know you are interested. SO WHAT LADIES! Guys love the attention too! Don't wait! cause we all know when ladies like a guy they will claw and scratch at eachother to get his attention, no matter how much he says or pretends he is worth. Personally if she doesn't have current information and a current picture, within 3 months in her profile, I move on.

On non-millionaire sites, the men initiate contact. On millionaire sites, the women should not hesitate to send a millionaire an email.  Sometimes they respond, sometimes they don't. But don't afraid to send an email if you find someone that interest you.

I'm old school about the intitial contact too. But honestly if you snooze you lose, so I'm over it!

You can't sit around waiting for men to happen across your profile and then make the first move. Sometimes you just have to go for it and be prepared for rejection.

Just keep in mind that you are in charge of where you take things.

If a man is disrepectful or mistakes your making the first move for you being easy .. then end it right there. That's what "block" is for.

Personaly I'm not going to sit around waiting to be discovered and pursued. I'll send an icebreaker email if I come across a man I'm interested in. If I don't receive a response I simply move on ..

Life is too short not to dance because you're waiting to be asked...

Theres nothing wrong with the women making first contact. Maybe you see someone who hasn't run across your profile yet, so why not contact him.

The other thing is, there are alot of people who have a profile on here, are looking around,, but aren't members. So, if you happen to wink at one of them, they can't reply unless they join,, the only thing they can do is wink back or make you a favorite.

    hope this helps
