 MACHEVILLI.... THANK YOU... :)

I was trying to figure out the "quote" thing here... but it was copying everything.. so I will shoot off the cuff from what you stated....

YES, it is true..I have endured a lot and in the process "SELF-AWARENESS" has occurred..

I easily identify my strengths and my weaknesses....

In stating this.. I feel what many people lack is the knowledge the TWO GO COUPLED WALKING HAND IN HAND...

Example? I am STUBBORN... MANY times in life that "DIE HARD BULL-HEADEDNESS" has created conflict... I didn't want nor care to hear the others view... and it didn't matter if I was wrong or right in my thoughts... I was being HEAD STRONG.. and screw all else!!  BUT... MANY times it has assisted me as well... If I say I am going to do something.. I DO IT! I put down cigarettes @ one time just because I REFUSED to "GIVE IN" to buying another pack! I was STUBBORN at all costs! Same thing with food, over spending, etc... I've never had weight issues.. Not because I don't enjoy food... But because I was mean enough to tell myself NO!! LOL

Life has "taught" me to try and turn my "liabilities" into "assets" as I move forward.... It is NOT something I have come near "mastering" but yet something I continue daily to "work on" for self betterment. If being "better people" were easily done... we wouldn't have a world filled w/ so much judgment and hatred though.. It is a vicious cycle we encounter daily. I just feel "blessed" I am not one who is afraid to "face my fears" ... because in the end.. it is our FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) that keeps us tied to our weaknesses... I am deathly AFRAID of comittment.... I am AFRAID I will FAIL again... (INSECURITY = weakness) yet I continually press forward on date sites?

WHEN ONE RECOGNIZES THIS FACTOR OF LIFE... (our "weaknesses" are a RESULT of our FEARS) I HAVE FOUND IT MAKES LIFE EASIER TO WEATHER THE STORMS...

THANK YOU for your kind words.... I am very pleased to be here and meet your aquaintance! :)

Quoting Hoping4Love2000:

Very well stated MACHIVILLI...

IN TRUTH?

HAPPINESS COMES FROM WITHIN.. HAPPINESS STEMS FROM THE HEART...

People who live in misery WITH money.. would be miserable people w/out it as well.. Same is true vice-versa..

As I read one person stated about not knowing any better of what "Happiness" is so they bury themselves in work.. never touching pure joy..

Children learn what they LIVE. If one lived in squaller as a child.. but received a blessed and loving childhood... they learned JOY and will receive it REGARDLESS of financial status....

If a child lived w/out joy and love in their lives as children... they may grow up to be very miserable "rich" people who never touch true "wealth."

"RICHNESS" in my book.. is a measure of ones ability to weather the storms in life while remaining joyful despite the tornadoes and thunder surrounding them.. I guess it all amounts to what one denotes as being "Rich." I don't account "richness" in a dollar amount.. anymore than I feel beauty is only displayed on ones exterior..

Personally? I find LAUGHTER to be the best antidote to weather ANY storm...

Sign me.. "BEAUTIFUL" from the INSIDE...

HAPPY? Hmmm.. One of those in "learning mode".. as I did not receive love and acceptance as a child.... It's a long climb up!! But  I was truly "BLESSED" w/ a sense of HUMOR.. God knew I'd have many storms to battle!

Hoping4Love2000

I have to say your words were profound, moving and touching. It appears to me that you have achieved self-enlightenment, insight, self-knowledge, and freedom from many of the issues that so many struggle with on a daily basis.

There is no doubt in my mind that the world is a much better place because of you. I can not speak for everyone here yes, you are "BLESSED" and we are also "BLESSED" that you're here.

May you continue to be "BLESSED".

In 1957 Ayn Rand wrote 'Atlas Shrugged', I wanted to share a couple of thoughts from the novel regarding money. "But money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but will not replace you as the driver. It will give you the means for the satisfaction of your desires, but it will not provide you with desires. Money will not purchase happiness for the man who has no concept of what he wants: money will not give him a code of values, if he's evaded the knowledge of what to value, and it will not provide him with purpose, if he's evaded the choice of what to seek. Money will not buy intelligence for the fool, or admiration for the coward, or respect for the incompetent."

The novel as speaks about the signs that a society may be in trouble when it comes to money, "Money is the barometer of a society's virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by complusion-when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing-when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but favors-when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you-when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice-you may know your society is doomed."

Have we arrived at this point in our society?

Money can buy happiness in a lot of ways but money cannot by happiness in regards to a relationship and true love.

because they are stupid and think that they can buy happiness

plus having lots of money gives people a false sense of security

just because someone has money that does not mean they are intelligent

One may feel that they don't have anything left to do or look forward to. One may find themself asking the question are my firends my friends becasue they are true friends bucause I am rich and successful. One may ask the same question about their spouse. It can become very challenging but not impossible to find true love in the world if one is still single. Another reason could be that they feel there is something still is missing their live. One may also be thinking about the sacrafices they made by missing out on family events or watching their children growing up. Another very important aspect is having GOD in their lives. There nothing so great than to take a few minutes from our busy lives a say a prayer or 2. My advice is not to tortuee or feel bad about being rich. Besides, GOD did not say tha one could not be rich, it's just one should not make being rich their GOD.

no te equivoques,no todod los ricos o la mayoria son desgraciados o tristes.lo que si es cierto es que el dinero no da la felicidad completa, pero eso nadie lo tiene ,que no te intenten engañar.

First, not ALL rich people are sad.

Second, everyone needs something or someone to love and if you are raised in a dysfunctional home sometimes work is what you choose to love. I know tons of rich people who are incapable of a healthy relationship with people but who are extraordinarily wealthy... they dedicate their efforts to making money, not love... its all they know and all they are truly good at and it makes them happy. Yes, the lack of human touch does make them sad which the leads them to get more involved in their work... its a vicious circle.

The sadness you see is easy to understand and when you view it in the proper context its not so bad.

I don't think it buys happiness, but it sure can broaden your horizons. When you don't have money and are feeling down, you just get depressed and sometimes suicidal because you can't get away. On the other hand being wealthy, you can fly away or do something else to ease your mind. But money does attract fake people and fake friends, so it a no win situation unless you have a real good prayer life. I myself found out that you attract haters if you're broke or have money, but I rather have money and take my chances. Just my opinion.

I think Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best: Happiness, like a butterfly alighting, cannot be grasped and held, but comes of its own accord to the patient heart.  It is not the goal of life, but when it happens, like the rainbow after the storm, everything is made beautiful by its presence.  It is the one gift which is gained most by giving it to someone else, for there is always love at its core.  Our cherished moments of the past, serene acceptance of today, faith in the future's dreams...these are the elements of happiness.

I dont believe at all that money can buy you happiness. I think money is just a comfort, like a warm blanket or your childhood stuffed animal. But what is happy anyways?
