There's a survey out that is polling women asking them if they know within 8 seconds of meeting or viewing a man that they would sleep with him or not. Is this true?

8 seconds of looking at a person, or having discourse. If discourse and how they look is taken into account. That is no time at all. A hour to half an hour is better to be certain. There are so many maybes, its boring. Best of all, give a person a chance to speak.

Studies show that within a few seconds of meeting men and women figure out a lot about each other. I guess this is what you might call chemistry. Whether you know that quickly if you want to sleep with them is jumping the gun (pun intended). You don't have to hang out with someone for hours to know if you want to see them again, usually you know within about ten seconds of meeting them, that is if you trust your intuition. Speaking now as a life coach with several years under my belt, I would say that women are much more in touch with their intuition than men are. So where it might take women ten seconds it could take men ages to work it out with their calculators and protractors. Just my opinion...

i see that this thread is just about anything and everything except for the rule..which, first of all must be interesting for lots posting their thots here, but doesnt grasp our attention too long.

it takes me that long to know if i like to have a conversation with him, speaking as a woman. and not feeling sleepy just yet.

Hahaha! Sorry Sweeney...we kind of took over your thread with our own conversation. But how much can anyone say about an "8 second rule" anyways? lol

You can have your thread back though, cause if Tall ain't around to chat with...well, there's no point in my hanging around.

Tall, I probably won't be on this thread anymore. Actually, after the 10 days is up, I probably will be on the site less and less, or not at all.

It was never a good dating site for myself either. I've been using it more for the entertainment value, but with someone in my life, and Summer here...I have less free time, so will probably wean myself off over the Summer, cause I'll be away alot, and won't have the time to be on. BUT I have met someone wonderful people (not dates) across the globe from the site. So it has been good from the perspective of making new friends Worldwide.

You take care also. I wish you luck in all your future endeavours! Cheers!

C'ya Sweeney!

Well Sharon, they offered me the free gold membership for 10 days plus the $4.95 refund, but I told them I wanted a FULL refund, so I am getting then AND the boot!! LOL Is OK tho, because this site isn't for me anyway!!

Driving down the PCH is a beautiful drive. My daughter and I took the drive a few years ago. Drove from Sacramento to LA and had a great time stopping at Monterey Bay and points south.

Take good care, Sharon, and I'll miss you as well. Have a wonderful time with your beau. Maybe I'll check in every now and then to see how this forum is going. Might even add my 2 cents worth!! :)

Sales are down all over the US correct? I wish you luck.

What part of CA will you move to? CA is quite beautiful, but an earthquake might shake me up a little! LOL Not sure I would like that! :-(

Re:

Yes, sharp, sales are down here in the US. The interest rate is going up, and with gas prices and everything else being so expensive, people just aren't buying homes.

My daughter lives in northern CA, in Red Bluff, which is about 1.5 hrs from Sacramento. The area is really gorgeous.

Well, I received an answer from MM yesterday, then again this morning.
They were only going to refund $4.95, since I had used 2 months of my membership. I told them that since my chat didn't work, nor did my forum posts, that I should receive a full refund, which I will receive.....then they promptly discontinued my membership, so as of this moment, I am off this site. Heck, I should at least be able to use what's left of it....til July 14th. SHEEESH!!!

Take care, Sharon, and enjoy your life with your beau!!!

Re:

Sheesh! They can't do that! They gave me 10 days free membership, because they said I have been a long standing member.

A friend of mine lives somewhere 3 hrs North of San Fran, and drove a gf and myself all around CA, through the mountains and along the coast. It was absolutely beautiful. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck to you Tall. Will miss chatting with you here. Maybe that's my que to depart also. :-)
Be well!

LOL on the TB, sharp!! I kind of prefer Tall myself. TB just doesn't sound good!!

I can imagine how your feet hurt, sharp. My daughter and I walked around the St. Louis Zoo for 5 hours and the next day, my legs were killing me. We had a great time tho.
I can't wait to move to CA. I really need to get away from these Illinois winters. I have a feeling it's gonna take awhile to sell my house tho. There are so many homes for sale in here and with sales down, I don't foresee moving till Fall, but I hope it's sooner!
Sounds like you and your beau are having a wonderful time together. I am so happy for you both.

Thanks Rob for picking up my slack and letting Tall no that her post still was not showing immediately. But Rob...you really need to change your abbreviated name for Tall...I mean...'TB'? (said with a smile and humour)

I just returned from Boston yesterday. I had a fabulous time. Monday we walked for 6.5 hrs all around the City. When we looked at a map, we realized we had walked what is called "The Freedom Trail", and plus some. Tuesday...my feet were killing me. Wednesday they felt a little sore, but I ventured out to check out the stores down Newbury Street for a couple of hours. Then we walked 20 minutes to the National Art Museum (something like that) and spent two hrs walking through it. I didn't want to comment to my beau how sore my feet were. I didn't need to. He was very perceptive when he picked up that I briefly staggered for a moment! I love that man! lol Shortly after we walked back to our hotel to put our feet up, before getting ready attend a cocktail & dinner party that evening. He wanted me to be able to stand! I had no problems. But I did need to sit for an hour prior. It was good prep for a 2 day hike in the mountains we are doing in two wks.
You are so positive Tall. I think you'll love your new home and being close to your daughter. Good luck with the sale of your present house.
