I hope that you win the lottery or something. I think you may find help by contacting the media (tv stations) oprah, trya, montel, maury, etc. take time and write your story with real thought, and perhaps have some of your family members right their thoughts and concerns. Contact these people diligently and dont give up. I dont think this site is where you will find your help, as people on here constantly get asked for money for one reason or another. I feel for you, and believe that you are telling a true story and looking for help anywhere you can get it, but what if you are barking up the wrong tree? Seriously think of contacting every tv program you can think of, and maybe someone will be willing to help. Good luck to you.

Reading these posts makes it painfully clear that we each have our own neurosis around with money. Money in itself in nothing but security. Imagine re-reading all the posts, replacing the word money with security. It would be interesting and revealing.

I am reminded of an old saying: A poor man wants money, a rich man wants time (sorry ladies). Money won't bring happiness but it will bring a measure of security to someone who doesn't have it.

I believe happiness comes through our relationships and contact with others. That's what's truly valuable to me.

I too find it funny when people think money can buy happieness.. Maybe for the person who doesn't have it in the first place. A guy with money goes thru a lot of stress and usualy isn't too happy. For one, the women your with, how do you know for sure she isn't there just for the money? Can you honestly call that happiness? To have a trophy wife thats loves you as long as she can shop?

Being a business owner, I deal with lawyers, acountants, employees and companies tryign to screw you every chance they get. I get up at 6:00AM and get home at 11:00PM. I have friends that hang around because of my toys, family members always needing money and then don't call till they need more. Friends wanting high paying jobs to do nothing. Give me a break! I'd love to see someone step into my shoes and then say they are happy.. I'd be a lot happier with a regular job! Making just enough to get by.

I certainly don't make enough to be classified as a millionaire, I've made a million and I've spent a million. I have to work like a dog to keep my life running. The ups and downs in business would kill the average person. I envy those happy couples that are deeply in love with each other and have normal lives..

Christmas is coming, I'll spend it like I did last year, get up alone and head to my sisters house, then come back home and sleep with only my 2 cats to keep me company.. Happiness?

Dennis

Money doesn't buy happiness. It just rents some good times. You can probably not live very well without some, but if money is your only goal in life, you may be quite unhappy. I've seen wealthy who were quite miserable because they were always worried about who was going to get their money. They died leaving conflicting wills, and only the attorneys profited from it.

Re:

That's a lie.
Though it's true money cannot buy happiness, rich people can.

You want a cure for depression? Hand me at least a good 10 million dollars, and I promise you that it will disappear in no time at all.

*laughs*

Heh. People can throw 2 copper morals at me all they wish. "Money can't buy happiness" is just something poor people say.

At least I'm not that jaded to believe that it can't and know for a fact that it can.

That's the thing about a good lie: It's beautiful, it has a message, and it's easy to swallow.

The truth is often ugly, harsh, and hard to ingest. I'd rather side with the truth than believe in something as so false as to say that money can't buy happiness.

No offense or disrespect meant, of course, but I don't subscribe to such point of views.

I love a guy with money... so what is wrong with that??? nothing at all in my book. I don't want to live like my parents with no retirement because they raised 6 kids and did not save.I am struggling now on my own, no complaints... The person isn't the money, so they person should not be judged for that, or if they want to marry someone like that,it is called life style to me, one I love and don't have right now, but sooner than later a man with a great heart and money will come along and swept this diamond in the ruff up like there is no tomorrow,lol...I'm not a gold digger either, so you guys and gals ready to lash out in a nasty way got my view all wrong...

Doubt there truly is such a thing as happiness.

Like I stated before... money buys happiness.

A fact known by the rich but often rejected by the less fortunate.

Quite easy to say that because someone has more than you that they can't possibly be as happy as you are.

Hi, every one, I am from India. What is HAPPINESS? Is it mere instant gratification, like the lady who would buy a BMW if only she had a million dollars? Or is it reaching out... sharing..caring..I have always felt that one is as happy as one feels...as one wants to be...One is as rich as one feels.. as one wants to be...I have always felt that I am richer than Billy boy Gates..

You don't need money to make a difference. At a basic level, there might be someone around the corner who is alone and needing help. Smiling at a stranger might light up their world. This is all for free.
Without action - nothing happens.

Ok, to be honest, money could buy me a BMW Z4 Convertible and I'd be hella happy and I wouldn't be stuck driving a 1995 Ford Escort that gets 6 miles to the gallon and starts only half the time! BUT in the long run, you wouldn't be happy because there'd be nothing left to buy. There is always something missing in one's life.
