Nowadays, people feel so much pressure in their job, then in life and many more....

Spoken like a true philosopher.

This IS a world of growing enlightenment if so many of us are aware of, and believe in these concepts. Ten or twenty years ago, we would have been thought of as nuts for our open, wise thoughts of clarity.

There's hope for humankind yet.

You can't expect life to be handed to you on a silver platter, but if you set your goals and work hard to achieve them, you'll find the silver platter forming beneath you.

Life is what you make it. There isn't anything one can not achieve when one sets their mind to it. Never assume anything, and remember that nothing good in life ever comes easy. Everything requires work, including a good relationship. If you want happiness, and a good life, then there is no room in one's life for self-pity. Self-pity will only pull you down. Think about all the good things you can do and have done, and start patting yourself on the back for them and move forward.

So that is why people call me a "Character".

Life is about change. Taking the things that don't work and channeling into other areas. When someone/something knocks you down, get up and try again. It's about not giving up.

Yes, that may be true, but it's the little joys within them and when you take time to stop and notice that makes them all worthwhile! If it's raining before a meeting...who cares! Get a little wet and be thankful you were out in it to do so. If the boss is having a bad day, be glad you have a boss to yell at you! If it's cold and your heater breaks in the middle of the night, but glad you have shelter to protect you until morning! When you children make a mess, help clean it up then be happy for the memory they just gave you!

Life isn't perfect, but THAT is what makes it PERFECT! It's the imperfections in life and those we love that mean the most! It's the memories that are presented to us, not what we have, what we pay in rent, or what we drive. LIFE and LOVE is the joy and in everything that is stressful is something great, you just have to open your mind, heart and soul to see it, enjoy it and embrace it!

Life isn't hard, LIFE is GREAT! Taste that snowflake on your tongue with your child like you were their age. Splash in a puddle with them! Grab your sweetie and kiss him/her all night in the rain. Listen to sounds around you and listen with your heart. That's when you know you are living life! Otherwise, you grow bitter, cold and resentful and when you become old you have no one there for you, children who hate you and are left in the cold hollows of an empty room as bitter as the cool air you once cursed...

I agree its not easy...but it is the only one you get so make the best of it and enjoy it while you can,you never know just how short it will be. My new motto is MAKE EACH DAY COUNT.

So true....and today...has brought it home for me...as it is father's day.....am having to do daddy stuff with my kids....and having to answer why....their father has to die...and why...he did not recover from cancer...
Making each day count makes more sense right now more than anything else.
Here's to making each day count.

Presh, I wish I could go and give you a long, tight, warm hug.

A lot of guano has happened in my life, but I live in denial and have self-inflicted short term memory loss so that I can put aside the horrible effects of adversity in favour of living a blissful life of naive gullible cluelessness. (My tongue would be in a knot right now if I had verbalized that statement!)

Anyway, as I've gotten older, I've come to remember that everything that happens to me, no matter how bad, usually turns out not so bad after all, in the long run. And when I recall that everything that happens is an opportunity to learn, I manage to turn the adversity into a diversion where I'm looking for the lesson in it all.

There's something to be said about being an ostrich with its head in the sand. (Do ostriches really DO that?)

And then we find our selves in some pretty unusual places.

When I was little I'd always whine to my mom: "But it's not fair" and she'd always say: "who told you life was fair."

I remember feeling so much frustration because I'd been brought up to play fair, but on the flip side my mom wanted me to learn that life wasn't about fairness. What's the point I thought.

The older I become the more I'm able to accept my mother's words. Altimately, I think she meant that I should do whatever my heart leads me to knowing that my actions may not get a fair reaction. But as long as I am happy with my actions I don't need a fair reaction to be happy because I've done as my heart dictated.

Ah! Darnit, that was it!
I misunderstood when I first heard that and remembered it as COUNT EACH DAY!
Don't even wanna tell ya how many times I've lost count having to do some serious math to get the right amount of days again!

*Goes away preparing lessons for my Day, will have to teach him how to count...*

Good thing no one told you to count the minutes and seconds...your brain would really be fried! LOL
