Does anyone else out there blog?

OK, I admit it, I have a blog.

I've been blogging, anonymously, since 2004 but wiped out most of my material to start over (part of the catharsis associated with the breakup from my now-ex lover).

This time, I've decided to blog exclusively about life's pleasures. I only have posted about 11 times since I started over, but an interesting life picture is starting to emerge. Dating is an adventure, yes?

Anyone else out there blogging? Are you anonymous or public about it? Any thoughts on blogging in general?

Lol... Welcome to the world of novices, like me! Did u ever get the info that u wanted re: IM setup so u could IM? or IM me there and I will try to walk u thru it. Once you download the right program from
MSN and set it up, it's not all that hard.

I was with Blogger for awhile, but changed to Wordpress. Wordpress is great; their "canned" templates are nice-looking and user friendly, it lets you archive your posts by category. Their tech support is also pretty good.

A lot of blogging folk use something called "Typepad," but I don't know much about it.

Goodlife, your blog gets better and better! Bravo!

Why thank you! I think it's the main reason why I'm spending less time here on the forums.

Too bad my absence isn't due to the fact I'm too busy having all kinds of hot rabbit-sex, alas . . . nay, I'm living in my head, doing homework and blogging.

eh.

sigh!

Cutie, The MM blog does not function properly and is not used like a blog normally is, so if you are confused, so, it seems, is everyone else. The blog here is not a good example. Go to blogger and you will see good examples.

It's not you, it's the MM blog. The only upside is that you are very visible on this site!

I have an anonymous blog (blogger). Never mention a man's name, only use the pronoun he. Humour, heartache, work worries...the things one does not want to burden friends with and that my cats do not want to listen to or have heard before!

The blog here seems like another forum, only with a counter.

Me too Seattle - - and thanks for stopping by!!! I, too have no identifying information in mine. No names, no faces, and I don't give my location.

Also, I take care about what/whom I write about. I only write about my relationships to the extent that they effect me personally, or in retrospect long after the other party has given up a stake in the outcome. I do this out of respect for THEM, and out of respect for ME. There is nothing in there I wouldn't want my mother to read. Of course, she and I talk frankly about sex. I suppose I'd give my blog a PG rating. I'm working through my head what it would take to bring it up to an NC-17 rating without putting myself at risk should I be "outed" someday.

Most blogs seem narcissistic or exhibitionistic - - I suppose they are both. We're displaying our business to total strangers! It makes sense though: We blog exclusively about ourselves because it would be totally rude and inappropriate to blog about others. Unless they give permission of course.

My daughter and I were home today, both of us sick with colds, so we decided to play dress up and take photos for my blog. Headless shots, LOL!

Well the blog option is on the left side under "my circle of friends" and on top of "check my email" usually you use a blog sort of like a diary, but for everyone to read, you can check other peoples blogs out and see more a less what they wrote too. You can write about your life, your opinions... and add a little photo if you wish, not sure about IM though, not a full member!

Best Wishes

I can't IM either; and I don't want to anyway, most of the guys instant-messaging appear to be seeking "instant gratification" anyway!

A "blog" is short for weblog. It's like a diary anybody can read!

What you are talking about Goodlife & Hondo, this is the first I've heard of it.

Both of mine are on military web sites. One is for Viet Nam veterans and the other is for disabled veterans. We talk about things that affect us and other things that we are concerned about. Both are password only sites that are not open to the public.

There are several hot topics right now that everyone should be concerned about. One is the school that won't allow any students to wear a combination of red, white and blue clothes or anything that displays the American Flag. Imminent domain is another as well as many ordinances being passed in cities and towns telling people what they can do with their private property.

Mostly though we just talk about things we have done, places we were and friends we have lost. Kind of an internet group therapy session.

Hondo, it's probable that the stuff about schools not letting kids wear red, white and blue or images of flags is just "urban legend." For instance, the story Bill O'Reilly reported last year about kids at one school not being allowed to wear red and green at Christmastime was just pure bunk - - - it never happened! Did he retract the story? I don't know; I refuse to watch him anymore because he lies.

Many of these stories are fabricated to spool up the patriotic-Christian-conservative "base." My ex-boyfriend's mother is always freaking about about these stories; she's convinced we're all going to hell in a handbasket. (Well, we ARE, but not for the reasons she thinks!!! )

Oh, and I agree: The imminent domain issue is just plain SCARY.

This one is true. There are schools in Kolorado and Kalifornia that have done it. One has retracted under pressure from parents. One is near Camp Lejuene and I'm quite sure they will change their minds when the Marine parents take over the school and repair all the damages the school board has done.

I think O'Reilly gets excited and runs with stories before they are fully investigated. He's not the only one that does that. It's much more common now since there are so many alternatives to television news.

I do totally agree that we are going to hell in a hand basket for other reasons. I'm afraid it's too late to fix. I'm going to the city council meeting Monday night. If no one sees me for a few days I'm in the Johnson County Jail.

As things stand now, no one who's seen my face has seen my blog, but what if I get "outed" someday? Perhaps it is wise never to post anything on the internet I wouldn't want people to know about me . . . especially men I might date, am dating, or have dated in the past!!

I find it best to always say what you mean and mean what you say. :o) Seems to work out easier in the long run. Of course, I guess there is always the possibility of TMI...

Goodlife: Did you move btw? My eyes and mind sometimes seem fading, but I seem to remember NJ for your address line???

My little NJ town is actually a suburb of Philadelphia. I'm trying to disabuse New Yorkers of the notion that I'm local to them.

Not that I wouldn't date someone from NYC; I'd just want them to be realistic about it!

I have a personal blog on Wordpress. I'm still toying with how anonymous vs. public I dare to be.
