Lol... Welcome to the world of novices, like me! Did u ever get the info that u wanted re: IM setup so u could IM? or IM me there and I will try to walk u thru it. Once you download the right program from
MSN and set it up, it's not all that hard.

I know that this sounds dumb, but I am relatively new to the club and don't even know what blog means. Could someone explain and tell me how. Also, I can't figure out how to IM on the Instant Messenger. When I double click the name, I write a line but no one ever responds. Can you help??? Lexie

Well the blog option is on the left side under "my circle of friends" and on top of "check my email" usually you use a blog sort of like a diary, but for everyone to read, you can check other peoples blogs out and see more a less what they wrote too. You can write about your life, your opinions... and add a little photo if you wish, not sure about IM though, not a full member!

Best Wishes

I have a blog on yahoo 360 with other previous members of MM. I don't use it for dating, rarely go onit.
Initially I thought the question was with respect to the new "blog" feature on MM. I don't have one there.
What you are talking about Goodlife & Hondo, this is the first I've heard of it.

Both of mine are on military web sites. One is for Viet Nam veterans and the other is for disabled veterans. We talk about things that affect us and other things that we are concerned about. Both are password only sites that are not open to the public.

There are several hot topics right now that everyone should be concerned about. One is the school that won't allow any students to wear a combination of red, white and blue clothes or anything that displays the American Flag. Imminent domain is another as well as many ordinances being passed in cities and towns telling people what they can do with their private property.

Mostly though we just talk about things we have done, places we were and friends we have lost. Kind of an internet group therapy session.

Hondo, it's probable that the stuff about schools not letting kids wear red, white and blue or images of flags is just "urban legend." For instance, the story Bill O'Reilly reported last year about kids at one school not being allowed to wear red and green at Christmastime was just pure bunk - - - it never happened! Did he retract the story? I don't know; I refuse to watch him anymore because he lies.

Many of these stories are fabricated to spool up the patriotic-Christian-conservative "base." My ex-boyfriend's mother is always freaking about about these stories; she's convinced we're all going to hell in a handbasket. (Well, we ARE, but not for the reasons she thinks!!! )

Oh, and I agree: The imminent domain issue is just plain SCARY.

This one is true. There are schools in Kolorado and Kalifornia that have done it. One has retracted under pressure from parents. One is near Camp Lejuene and I'm quite sure they will change their minds when the Marine parents take over the school and repair all the damages the school board has done.

I think O'Reilly gets excited and runs with stories before they are fully investigated. He's not the only one that does that. It's much more common now since there are so many alternatives to television news.

I do totally agree that we are going to hell in a hand basket for other reasons. I'm afraid it's too late to fix. I'm going to the city council meeting Monday night. If no one sees me for a few days I'm in the Johnson County Jail.

As things stand now, no one who's seen my face has seen my blog, but what if I get "outed" someday? Perhaps it is wise never to post anything on the internet I wouldn't want people to know about me . . . especially men I might date, am dating, or have dated in the past!!

I find it best to always say what you mean and mean what you say. :o) Seems to work out easier in the long run. Of course, I guess there is always the possibility of TMI...

Goodlife: Did you move btw? My eyes and mind sometimes seem fading, but I seem to remember NJ for your address line???

I do on two different places. Both are military related and we are all anonymous. Just places that we can tell our stories, share a few laughs, a few tears and remember friends lost.
