Angel, its a much more stable IM than MM is, but also scammers will try to move you over to there, because their profiles on MM will only stay active for a few days before they are removed from the system. Ive had alot of "REAL" people ask me to move over to "Y" but I have learned not to do that until I have gotten to know that person a bit. I try to keep from filling up my usual messenger with people that I may have a hard time getting rid of later. There could be several reasons, but "Y" is an extremely popular one that most people use.

No, Angel! These guys, who can't be bothered sending you a few cute emails to make you feel at ease with them, aren't interested in romance or a relationship.

Once they get you on the messenger, they indiscreetly bring the conversation around to sex. If you don't say bye-bye instantly, then they'll ask you if you have a web-cam. They want to see for real if you're hot and to see what you're wearing. Then ... they pull out the "ammunition."

I find, when a guy says he's fed up with emailing and wants to go to messenger right away ... he's typing one-handed and just looking for some inspiration in the form of a living, breathing chick who will do whatever he can talk her into.

I'm really sick of men who think I'll fall for that revolting "scam." They don't want your money or your bank acct. number ... they just want to get their noogies off on camera with someone they'll never have to talk or explain to again.

Filthy Pervs.

Sorry to be so psycho about this topic but I think these guys are the true definition of pigs. Good thing we have gentlemen here at MM. I LOVE these guys!

So I decided to see his profile and low and behold it is gone, however here are his pictures. See my position has a lot to do with making sure all diligence is done on people whom my clients will potentially deal with so he picked the wrong person. I can be a real pit bull when it comes to the business side but a softy on my personal side. Unfortunately for this man, I make it a policy never, ever to mix business with pleasure. The sad part for this man is that his English is not very good. I surprised him when I told him to speak in French to me. He went silent, I understand and read French, I may not speak French fluently but I do read and write extremely well. So I gave it a try and he hung up on me. He is still trying but like I said good learning experience.
Jury is out on this one still!!

Blanca,

I know the man in these photos personally. I can assure you that the person you are speaking to is NOT him. It is a scammer, the photos belong to my friend who is on a another site.

Sunshine, it may be that your friend on another site is a scammer. READY isnt that photo stolen from focushawaii? Weve showed that photo several times before. Sunny girl, have you actually met this person? This photo is used alot by scammers, I do know that.

Yes, I met him in person, the photos are his. He is not a model. He was also on this site--that's how they got the photos.

Why download 3 when you just need the one ??? :o) Actually that is probably quiet common for a lot of chatters, but the scammers use the big Ya Who too. It is kinda nice though, because you can view their profile and see when it was actually created. If the profile has been created in the past several months (or less!) take that as a sign... Also goo gle their screen name to see where else they might have been... LOL

I have a girlfriend who is in chatting with a gentleman(?) who is working in Africa who is trying to get her to cash money orders and hold the money for him till he gets here. Sounds very fishy also. This sounds like a really big scam. Just wanted to reply to you since it is like a similar story but with a guy working in Africa as a consultant. I guess people just need to be careful since there are lots of nuts out there. And how does a person know if they are really in Africa?

Redhot, I had a guy try to do the same thing saying he wanted to buy my dads boat. I told him that I would not accept payment for an overage and that he would have to pay for the shipping. Yes its a big scam. I told him that I would not give him my banking information and that I would open a new account for his bank draft, just to see what he would say. LOL. He of course said that his bank would not send to an empty account. DUH. the only way his bank would know that it was empty was because I told him it was. The first thing that tipped me off, was I asked him at least 6 times if he was going to come see the boat or send an agent to look at it. He would never acknowledge my question. I told him to not contact me anymore. I read on a scam site, that these people feel that the U.S. owes them and they will take it anyway they can.

He states that someone took his pics and identity... hmmmm.... Is that the excuse hes got for using stolen photos? The photos he is using are stolen from a modeling site. The models from focushawaii DO NOT use their portfolio shoots on dating sites. hahaha. So is he still claiming that these are his pics? If so, he is a liar, and very much a scammer. You can write to marisa at the scamsite and she will check the email address for you, and let you know if its a known scammer. If you go to Ghana, why dont you visit with him while you are there? I certainly would if I were there anyway... But keep in mind, it will be hard to find him, as he hasnt showed you his real photos.

I did my diligence on this gent, apparently he states that someone else took his pictures and identity. I do go to the Rep. of Ghana Embassy quite a bit lately and I checked a few more things out, and apparently he may be real, at least that is what he is claiming and trying hard at it, he even went as far as sending me roses, candy, and other gifts to the Embassy. The one that has been trying to be my "friend" is actually French, claims to live in Minnesota and has been doing some business in Ghana or so he claims. I try not to judge people as I have seen a lot in my line of work, but this one is quite suspicious. Hi Angelgirl!

I find them when I go through the newly registered members and recognize their pictures.

I'm sick to death of them too, but do what I can to post them. I'm probably not going to renew my preferred membership as of June 21st so the task will fall to others as I'll no longer be able to view new members joining.

I think MM has some sort of new system to check the emails of these scammers which finds them within 24-48 hours but don't know for sure.

It's a shame that we also need to be wary of scammers on top of all the other pitfalls of online dating, but it just is the way it is.
