Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me A Match! Romance

Through this venue, many of us have gotten a peek (maybe more in some cases) about others here.

The challenge (or opportunity!) is to find a match for someone else, whether through knowing that person from here or if so inclined, choose a person and do the search for them for some "leads".

How about Devoted first? He's a sweetheart of a man in true search for his next, final love. Who would you choose for him?

Or Robtest...another 'good fish' in the sea.

So the men can participate, who for Grapes....or Sharpie? If you find one for me too, that would be great!

Hey, how are my leads panning out?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

All right I will make a deal with you ladies. I will go back to being good if one of you volunteer for a weekend of BAD! Now let's see how many emails I get from that.... LMAO.

    T. - I emailed my favorite Sat. and have not heard back. Dang it!

Hope - connecting flight got canceled. I will be late for supper! LOL..

Deal! Just me help me put boundries around 'bad', okay?! Does my post under Rob's "Africa Scam..." count? Are you thinking naughty bad?

The woman of whom you speak took her good ol' time in responding to my note, so have a little patience. She must not get on the computer much.

Hey Teri while you are pimping Don to the ladies how about throwing my name around too. Some of us need more help than others.

Lee, "pimping" is such an ugly word! (smile). I have really no idea why Devo was chosen as my first project. Let's see if there's some success there. I wouldn't mind helping you at all. You too are a fine catch. You guys could easily help me as well....hmmmm....

How about negotiator? I don't even have my hook baited, I'm not going to catch anyone like that.

    That's better than pimp! lolol....
Ahhh, but the essence of that line is it's who you are - naturally - that is the bait, not that which you put on your hook. And in that you are indeed a catch, my friend.

Thank you Teri. You are a sweetheart. I'll be leaving in a few hours for South Alabama. If I'm not on much it's because I'm at my mom's and she still has a 14400 dialup. I also stay a lot busier while I'm there. Any help would be appreciated.

(don't delete yourself in the search for me)

I don't think so, cutie...but there were some good suggestions. It makes me wonder - again - about that old saying about friends first. Well, most of us have come to know each other fairly well through these postings and most of us are friendly with each other, so is that old adage really true? Or is it more like you get to the point where you don't want to risk the friendship by taking it to a more romantic, intimate level.

And you are certainly no boobie prize!

Women are different between the regions, reb. I just read your profile - nice! As a boater myself, I think it's likely that you'll find yourself most attracted to someone else who hangs on the water...excluding the 'boat babes" (as we refer to them in MI), you're likely to find women who are casual, fun yet refined. Look at their pics - do you see a friendly (vs. serious, seductive...)smile/eys? Look at the surroundings of the pic - is she in a place you can imagine yourself in? And last, but certainly not least - read every word of the profile. What is she really revealing about herself? Are her thoughts, values aligned with yours? Does she sound sincere? Maybe I over analyse...lol...That may be why only a few here have truly captured my attention, but then I only want one anyway.

Great idea for a thread. I'm sure you will get some interesting pairings. Too bad there aren't more people posting.

The Bob/Lorrie match would be full of fireworks if nothing else. I could only hope that Gem would be my match. All the men would envy me and all the women would think Gem has gone off her rocker.

Geez Hondo did someone crack you over the head....LMAo
You put Lorrie with Bob and we will never see him again.. I would suspect that he would have been done in by a #20 weight.......

Oh and i almost forget another week and you will get to meet Gem. Have a great time and enjoy the get together.

Actually, stats, Hondo broke off the date LOOOONG ago! I've made plans with my professor friend from the U of A instead. She and I will have a great time ... although we'll miss the romance involved with that day. *sigh*

    Gem

I was unable to explain this when Gem told you about me cancelling (I've been in the hospital for the last week and just got out yesterday) and I appreciate her not telling everyone what a fool I am.

The reason I had to back out is that my youngest son is in the state playoffs for AAU basketball in his age group. They had their first two games this past Sunday, which I missed because of the hospital thing, and they won. They have, hopefully two more games this Sunday. If they win both they will be in the state finals the following week. The only reason I'm in Indiana is my sons are here. When I asked Gem I didn't know about this tournament and the dates. I also had no idea she would say yes. She is the most beautiful, gracious, classy lady I have ever seen and why would someone like her go out with me on any day much less Valentines Day.

Should we have said something earlier? I have no idea what was the right thing to do. I left that to Gem and think she explained it wonderfully. I hope none of you are as disappointed as I am. Believe me there is no place I would have rather been than having dinner with Gem. I hope this is a good enough explanation, if not, let me know and I'll try to do better.

Red, that did not work out so well so who would you suggest as the next victim? LMAO.

Let me go work on that since I've thus far only seen 4 potentials for myself and those aren't panning out (though one hasn't figured out we are a match-'nother story best left at that)....
I'll send you some suggestions. I think my first criteria will be 'within the 48 contiguous states'...And now that I have a sense of what you like, I think I can come up with a couple. Signed,
    Gem (Do you remember me???)

I'm wondering if Cupid answers personal letters? If so...I think he wants to here from the really naughty boys and girls...LOL...

But..in the event he does answer you, I'm sure he'll have the perfect answer for you!! Heck, he may even have a person picked out and a destination you'll be traveling to for your belated Valentines Day celebration!!

For Christ Sake...will the two of you get a room. WINK

Hey Gem he is a great catch..hook him in line and center. I will lend you my own fishing rod.
