12 inches of vi*r*gin powder...you know that fluffy white stuff!

Today I was in a skier's 7th Heaven...skiing in 12 inches of powder, with some runs groomed, but still excellent ski conditions with the temperature around 32F (0C)...It was fantastic!
My quads were burning at the end of the day...14 runs! Any skiers would appreciate what I'm talking about. Ski conditions don't get much better than i experienced today! Wow! :-))

HI Sharp...
good to know u have the white powder..I am off to St. Moritz next week for a break with my son ..bonding time and hope we get the white stuff too..it is high enough..I think.
If you get it at Banff, it is good news for us in Switzerland too I hope..

Bonnie - I was in San Moritz in 1990. I sure wish I had my original Swiss Army knife I bought in that little shop. I still have my hat I bought at the Plaza hotel though. The last time I was there I spent 28 days touring and skiing. I was with the second largest ski club in the US, The Atlanta Ski Club. Miami was the largest ski club at the time - go figure. The club would do all the planning and we just had to show up and ski. Besides there were 2 women to every single guy.

I wish I still had the video of skiing above the clouds in Stanton Anton. Thanks for bringing back them memories.
Hey Bonnie go fill your kids head with memories they will never forget. I know I am doing the same!

Have fun next week! Wish I was there.

.D-

Wow...you're still skiing 215's? Devo, you're behind the times...don't they have demos you can try out for a couple of hours on the ski hill for free? You need to get a pair of 190 parabolics man! They practically turn for you and are excellent in powder!
215's are REALLY long...I used to ski with a racer who skied on 210's.

Sharpe when I ski with my youngest I use 185, much easier to turn and go slow. I still have my 215's from the 1980's. They have seen some mountains, I loved the speed. Non-stop till you hit the bottom. Or a back bowl drop in.
So I need a woman for what again?

Sharpe, I am just about over my jealousy, oh wait - "BITE ME". Oh I feel much better. LOL.

There is none better than fresh powder.
You can have the moguls! Last month I was riding the lift up with my 9yr old and I told him this is the last run of our day/trip let's make it one we don't forget. Half way down the mountain he had a 200 yard lead on me. He took a spectacular fall and had his legs twisted in a un-humanly direction. I was about to pick him up when I heard what we refer to as the "Screamer". A red haired girl maybe 15 snow plowing out of control straight down the mountain. She performed the most awesome set of cartwheels when she finally wiped out!

We LoAO. I picked my boy up and did (barely) manage to beat him to the bottom. - No more mercy for him, I am going back to my 215's.

YES MEMORABLE.

Hahaha! Wee & Lorrie...I wondered myself what thoughts would cross people's minds when I wrote that title! lol
S4U, I am definitely in my element skiing. My ski partner was a mother whom I've recently become friends with as our daughter's have begun hanging out more often this year. Finally someone to keep up with me! :-)

Devo...I was skiing Lake Louise in Banff. It has the longest runs, and when they have excellent snow conditions like on Tuesday...it's always been my favorite ski resort. You get groomed runs, and runs with moguls, with green, blue, black & double black runs...something for everyone! I'm not to keen on moguls anymore they are a little hard on the knees now!

My quads didn't hurt Wednesday...I was surprised. They were exhausted Tuesday night. :-)

Oh My Sharpe...lol. For a moment there I was concerned whilst reading the title. I thought you were talking about White Powder...Phew am I relieved.lol

The adventure must have been magical. Some family members are coming out your way in Feb to visit Margaret. I myself will fly down when the weather warms up. You know me I don't enjoy the cold. So when I come down we will have to get together my friend.

How are the Quads today?

I'm with ya, Petrina....I stopped breathing for a minute! lol

Wooo Hoooo you can see me. Hondo wrote the other day to say my post was not showing up. For a minute there I thought I was a ghost poster.

Great to see you again Lori. Love your pic.

Sharpe, I am just so jealous! Where were you? I took my boys 2 weekends ago to NC. It snowed 4 inches one day and was gorgeous the remaining. Makes me long for the days spent in CO and Europe. Let's see some pics!
