I have been hearing this phrase "That's how I roll" lately. I think I heard it on "wrasslin" first on latenight, and now on a fast food commercial on the radio.

Now I understand what the original meaning of the phrase is, but what I am wondering is how it has been injected into "pop culture". Is that a song lyrics or something ????

I believe Charm is on the right track in explanation. I believe I've heard Snoop say lines close to that. Just means that's how I like things, that's how it is with me. But I could be wrong.

I believe I've heard those lines but never stopped to analyze them. Sort of has an unspoken but understood meaning especially when used in rap.

But you know the more I say it the more I like it. I'll have to use it sometime when I'm feelin gangsta LOL!

It can go many different ways. For example I could say I'm spontaneous that's how I roll. I could say I have a hummer 3 that's how I roll. I could say when I go out to the club I like to drink, that's how I roll... I hope you get what I'm trying to say. It's just saying that how you like to be, do things, or what you like to have. I probably confused you.. sorry

It is a rap song, I am not sure about the artist or group that sing the song.

Thanks...You got your answer Rob.

How about the 9-11 flight when the passengers were going to rush the cockpit to regain control of the plane, and the phrase "Are you ready to roll" became a cliche for bravery.

Well BOB, I was thinking more "roll a joint" or "roll the dice", but certainly "roll them in flour" would be a possibility I guess...

Rob...I don't know...haven't heard that phrase before, but when my daughter returns from skiing tonight, I'll try to remember to ask her...the teens usually know these things!
