Question for the Gentlemen

I read a lot of profiles where the gentleman makes the point of stating that he looks younger than his age.
Well, I look younger than my age (and... sometimes act younger than my age) but as I told someone on another site who listed his age 5 years less than his actual age..

"I would not trade any of my life experiences to be younger than I am now."

To get to my question...

Why do so many of you post this in your profile.

I suspect (althogh do not understand why) that just as many men lie about age as women lie about age....perhaps it is marketing, but that sounds way too polite a term.

Actually, perhaps that would be a good question for everyone. If there is a gender bias for this, it is certainly not the men...

I keyword searched 35-55 with 100 miles of me on keyword "younger than" for both genders and got 92 hits for women and 43 hits for men.

But you are right. I know a lady that I went out with several years ago whose profile even states that her listed age is less than her real age, which she has in the text of her profile, and states the reason as men her age typically are searching for women 5+ years younger.

LOL, that is fairly smart marketing!!! I guess that is something that comes with the wisdom of age.

Sorry, I think I rambled again... Was the question: why do men put "look younger" phrases in their profile??? or was it: Why do men search for younger women???

The hundred or so posts in thread entitle "men and their age" also discuss this phenomenon.

Hmmmmm.... considering that you are located in the town next door to me, I'm not sure I like those odds. Perhaps I should check out the competition before I decide to forgo a meal and pray the membership fee for the "Golden Opportunity" to share a guy with 2.06 women. Thanks for the info....lol....
Since I don't make a habit of reading women's profiles, I was not aware that the same thing occurs within my gender, but am not really surprised. So I will open the question up to everyone as you suggested.
I think it's important for people to be honest, even (perhaps especially) in the online environment about things such as age, recent pictures, likes and dislikes and so on. If you fudge about your age, what else are you not being forthcoming on?
Thanks for the comments robtest and have a great weekend...

I will never understand the 'age thing' as far as I'm concerned if a man is interested in me it's because he is searching for my qualities NOT my age!

Although saying that...men younger than my children have said that age is just a number and I shouldn't discount them just because of the age difference!!!

OK I don't think I have helped you...infact I've just confused the issue even more...lol

I agree with you scorpio (by the way, I am a Scorpio also and just celebrate another birthday last weekend) it's qualities that really matter, along with lifestyle. I've seen younger people act older than I, older people act younger, etc...etc...(I've also had a number of younger gentlemen approach me...)
Sometimes I think people get hung up on a list of what they want and miss out on something that could be wonderful.

Have a great weekend and thanks for the comment.

To answer your question, you have to take a deep look at people spirituality, maturity and honesty; for many people life is just being tossed here and there. They have no real purpose or mean to respect high moral, honesty, love and the likes because many of them have never known God or read the Word of God which is full of example about immorality and the consequences of their actions & folly and wickedness etc..

The way I see it is that the majority of people know about the Bible but it is not a book they enjoy because it is hard to change one's life to live with a higher moral self but very easy to live a life of debauchery etc..

In time people just get caught up in this spiral of degradation till you barely can trust people for what they say. The purpose of God's Word is to build a person moral the highest possible so we can live to trust, love and live in peace. Jesus said " I AM the way, the truth and the life " Take His Word and you will do better for yourself and anybody else.
