What wiped out the dinosaurs? Lifestyle

I know that everyone seems to think an asteroid down off the coast of Guatemala
I think it was wiped out the dinosaurs. But there were many dinosaurs some chicken sized as well as very large all over the world. It is difficult for me to believe that the asteroid itself wiped out the dinosaurs. Temperature causes some reptiles to be all female or all male. If the temperature changed drastically maybe they all became one sex and that may have been what wiped them out. Any comments?

I know this is a dating site but there may even be a relation in this question to that.

    Hi

Though some may still be around, perhaps we should seriously consider the flood?

WELL,THE SCEINTIST ARE SUMMONING UP AN ASTEROID.BUT ,I JUST READ WHERE IT SAID AGAIN THE VOLCANO'S IN INDIA HAD BEEN ERUPTING FOR 1.5 MILLION YEARS. SO, I WOULD THINK THE ASHES AND SMOKE COULD OF REACHED THE ATMOSPHERE SO GREAT.DID THIS  BLOCK THE SUN ?ISN'T IT POSSIABLE THIS WAS THE REASON FOR WHY IT GOT SO COLD? PLUS WHAT ABOUT THE EXTREME SMOKE AND ASHES THAT WAS IN THE AIR .REMEMBER FOR I.5 MILLION YEARS ,IN THAT TIME COULDN'T IT HAD DAMAGED THE EARTH'S LEVEL OF OXIGEN?.PLUS ARE WORLD WOULD OF BEEN FILLED WITH SMOKE AND GASES FROM THIS.SO, HOW COULD ANYTHING SURVIVE IN THIS WORLD WITHOUT SHELTER .JUST A THOUGHT I HAD .AND IF THERE WAS AN ASTERIOD,DID THEY FINE ANY REMAINES OF THIS.   DO THEY HAVE PROOF.was there anything here that they found of this asteriod? THEY HAVE PROOF OF THE VOLCANO.AND HAD THE DATA ON HOW LONG IT ERUPTED FOR. I FEEL THIS IS WHY THEY ARE NOT TOO SURE WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED.BUT,IT IS PRETTY AMAZING.

yes it could happen again.like the asteroid thats coming?isn't there one coming towards us.even though it is way off. but i agree, the asteroid is the cause. and there was also volcanic eruptions that happened in india ,if i'm remembering this right. but the damage it did to the earhth's atmosphere is amazing in itself. and thats why the bones of theses creatures turned to fossills .

I THOUGHT IT WAS THE ICE AGE THAT WIPED OUT THE DINOSAUR'S.

I think it was because it changes the climate and temperatures, just lik eyou said. Though some animals have survived from when dinosaurs lived. Like dolphins and some birds and lots more

It was the human invention of steak and eggs for breakfast that killed the dinosaur.

Fact if you go to Glenrose TX you will see a dinosaur footprint in the stone of the riverbed and right behind it the footprint of a man. So one must assume that he was sneaking up behind Dino to be able to kill him at its most vulnerable moment, drinking water.

Add to that stealing eggs and oops goodbye dinosaur. The dinosaurs main weakness was that there were no tree huggers or environmentalists to protect them from this new idea of steak and eggs for breakfast.

I can prove this to you very simply, just ask your friends is steak and eggs still on the menu at IHOP or Denny's?

Yep history teaches us that some things never change . . . I had t-bone and eggs for breakfast myself this morning how about you?

Could be.. as far as I am concerned that si just one of tehpossible theories, no?
Or they just grew up to their highest potential and died , because other species , better addapted to survive ate their resources?!
Or suden change of the climate?
Or alliens, who invented the mamamls and create the missing link to thinking mammals( humans), AKA Home Sapiens?
Any thoughts on which one is most likely?

What should we learn from history? That we shouldn't assume anything unless we KNOW it! Remember, the Earth used to be flat:)

    .

here we go again, and theted fair and payed for there land in full? history, is important.

Keep in mind that this is only a theory, not a fact!

    .

No, it is fact. The Aztecs had a web cam setup at the site... Unfortunately, they put it too close to the impact zone and it got wiped out. They had paper backups and pictures but Hernan Cortes and his spanish horde burned all that smelting down the gold...

Sometimes I think humans are the reason we can't learn from history...

Where did that asteroid go? It must have been huge. Where are the remains?

I wish scientists wouldn't make up fantastic stories. They should just stick to what they KNOW. That is interesting enough.

    .

I think all that is left is the crater that was mentioned. The asteroid pulverized itself and the surrounding ground that is now the emptiness of the crater. This was the dust that was thrown into the atmosphere that caused the temperatures to fall.

I believe the show I watched on Nature Channel seemed to indicate that the astroid kicked up enough dust to significantly hide the sun and allow for the temperature on the surface of the earth to cool significantly. It was arguable whether it was enough to plummet the earth into an ice age, or just too cool for "most" dinosaurs.
