Are we as women expected to be just a toy....something to throw around or use. I don' think so. Relationships are just not what they used to be. A man used to treat his woman as his golden treasure...like the most beautiful thing in the world and to see the sparkle in his eye when he looks at her. What happened to that? Today things are just taken for granted.

I think relationships are not what they used to be because people and society is not what it used to be. Let's be fair, women have changed as well as men in their treatment of one another.

Back in the day women were not as aware of themselves, so their expectations rested mainly in their mates. Then women began to come into themselves, and our expectations came from within. However, something happened between the era of feminism and this era of what and who we are "supposed" to be.

I think we are in the midst of a confused state where some of us are on this kick of "independence" but being led by society's standard of beauty and "how-to-get-a-man", etc. We are told that if we don't have a man or if he doesn't do this or that, something is wrong with THEM. So we see those men that are not doing what we are told they should do like they have a third eye.

I believe we must treat ourselves as golden treasures and that comes from reaching inside ourselves for our own standard of beauty and finding what is acceptable for US - not what the magazine, televison or others dictate.

Once we become content and confident in who we are on our own terms, we're able to receive more honestly what men have to offer.

Just my thoughts...
