Why go to Church?

If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this! If you're
spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious,
there is still hope!

Why Go To Church?
A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained
that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years
now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons.
But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think
I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at
all."
This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much
to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this
clincher:
"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some
32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a
single one of those meals. But I do know this ... They all nourished me and
gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me
these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone
to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When you are
DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible,
believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our
physical AND our spiritual nourishment!
All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should
read this! "When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could
you get that for me?"

Remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the
moments that take our breath away.

Yes !!! The Lord Jesus died for your sins and shed his precious blood for you......
He's real and he watches all mankind continuously on a daily basis until every and as many that will call upon his name and recieve him.......Romans 10. verse 9,10, if you believe that he died for your sins and sits on the right hand side of the father..today !!!!!!

If say the prayer your name shall be written in the Lambs book of life. And shall return and redeem all who ask him in...........We are living in final days of the end times ......

The Lord will do all he can through his people to reach others.....

THE REASON THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER RELIGIONS IS BECAUSE THERE IS ALSO A REAL DEVIL ....WHO'S EXTREMELY JEALOUS OF WHAT GOD CREATED US HUMANS MADE IN HIS IMAGE WHO GOD THROUH DOWN AND TURNED INTO A SERPENT WHO WILL DO ALL HE CAN TO TAKE US WITH HIM EVEN CONFUSION OF OTHER RELIGIONS............ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD..

YOU GO TO CHUUCH TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD SPOKEN BY AN ORDAINED MINISTER BY THE LORD.. HES CHOSES YOU !!!!! YOU DON'T CHOSE HIM HE CALLS UPON ALL WHO ASK......

SINCERELY

Kudos to the author for sharing those inspiring words. Religion is a man made ritual to give us a vehicle to nurture our spiritual relationship with God and others. Some of the best people I've ever known never set foot in a church and some of the worst I've come across were weekly attendees. It's always a personal relationship between you and your God. I'm a regular churchgoing Catholic but I recognize that our religion is only designed to pass along lessons to foster our spirit.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

The things you mention are good as well as the fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ which you receive when you attend church.
A Christian life is not just a weekly meeting, it is a daily walk. Sometimes we stumble in our walk and it's good to have a hand there to steady us.

Don't mean to shed cold water on the discussion which I find interesting but Moses never walked on the water, he parted the water.

Jesus is the only one I know of who walked on the water and Peter also to an extent till he started sinking when he doubted and Jesus caught him.

Bible movies are very good for kids but also can be deceptive if they are not represented in the true form which the scripture present them in. I always worry about kids and Bible content they receive in their education.

I watched Charle Heston in the 10 Commandment, while reading the Old Testament I realized that some perceptional thoughts I had gotten from the movie were even not written in the scriptures at all but had made deep imprints in my mind as I enjoyed watching that video. Producers are not literal scripture scholars and add, substract and literally twist stuff to suit the audiences rather than accurate picture content so beware of that.

Otherwise a movie makes a deeper impression in your mind than just writing and the visual effects can be superd.

Hi Bonnie,

Glad you liked it. And yes, this one I had to think about a little also. Especially the meals part if nothing else, lol. And as for your son and Moses, walking on water was not all he did, parting the red sea was another one of his traits along with the ten commandments and burning bush too if memory recall serves me correctly. Talk to you soon sweetheart!
