Hi everyone, newbie here...
I've just had an experience I feel compelled to share. First of all, are some of these so-called millionaire men for real, i.e. intelligent at all? I mean...supposedly they live busy lives and don't have time to meet women at bars, etc that's why they choose to do the online thing.
"Hey, I'm looking for a sweet, sensitive girl who loves me for me...so what'll I do? I know...I'll just advertise my money, my cars and my horses...and hey presto! Perfect mate"
Anyway...back to my original story. So there I was...browsing through the endless profiles...as we all do...and then I came across this one profile. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So I did both.
First of all, the title read 'Top notch allowance for top notch companion. For real'. So I thought hmmmm this could be interesting...a job ad. Just what I'm looking for. So I delved deeper. Turns out the salary was quite attractive. $10,000 a month. But wait a minute, I suddenly thought, NO benefits??? Okay...calm down... let's have a look at the job description. And here it is, word for word...
" Yes, you read that right! I have a US$10.000 max montly allowance in mind for a top notch woman so she can devote her time, charms and energies 100% to me. But I have a lot on my wish list: ideally you are 18-28, very good looking, healthy and clean, English speaking, well dressed, good social skills, available for travel or stays in London for at least weeks, up to a month at a time, 100% availability is better. This also means a passport that allows easy worldwide travel is important. You have a pleasing personality and do what ever you can to make life a pleasure for your man. You are low maintenance, no drama, no strings attached. I want to do away with vague promises of pampering and expectations on both sides that are not going to be fullfilled and lead to an early end of a good beginning.I hope clear expectations will lead to a friction free, long lasting situation that is truly beneficial for both.
What if you cannot claim that you are top notch in every area I just described? Just set your sights lower and ask for less. I am a realist and can compromise if you can. If you feel you can offer a lot but not all I have on my wishlist: lets talk!"

I CAN'T believe there are men like that out there. I guess there ARE women who would jump at an offer like that. Am I the only one or does anybody else find this ... um... disturbing, for lack of a better word?

Sounds like that movie 'Pretty Woman'. Ten thousand, isn't enough, or that much I think. You can earn that with a conventional job instead of succombing to prostitution.

Creepy thoughts about what the guy looks like. $10,000 USD/mo? She, the lucky girl, will probably earn every penny...

Certainly won't hold that against ya Ma'am. Thank your Father or Mother for his/her service for me.

Well ladies of this thread. I am NOT rich. At least in terms of money. I am rich (and blessed) in that I am an older professional Army officer who serves with the finest men and women in the world and I would have it no other way. I value what I and my people can contribute to the world AND this nation far more than mere money can buy and the Army and my experiences in it have taught me that things like loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage (moral as well as physical) are far more valuable commodities than any materialistic goals that I could possibly have.

I certainly agree that these are at the top of the list of the most valuable things to acquire or learn in life.

Well Spoken, Bama Ranger. An "Honest man's pillow is his peace of mind" at having tried to live that life.

So this guy puts an Ad out with salary? Hard to picture any woman looking at anything that Starts off with...
"Compensation for services Rendered" ...
will lead into a healthy emotional relationship.

Maybe some of those "Gold diggers" will jump in with both feet. And be Happy..For awhile anyway. Till he hires someone else to replace them the same way.

Mimi I find this no more disturbing then the women who state they are seeking a "quality relationship" yet their profile picture(s) vividly display cleavage the size of melons. Why aren't they wearing a nice sundress? Or jeans and a blazer?

Another favorite of mine are the ones that proudly profess they are not gold-diggers yet they are seeking someone to "spoil" them. What exactly does that mean?

This is the second time I've gone on record as agreeing with Speed. As long as the guy is geniune -- and his proposal is not a ploy to prey on unsuspecting women that he dispose of after having his way with them -- who's to say his whether his lifestyle preference is indecent or not?

You get your kicks your way, I get mine another, so on and so forth.

My point is deviancy is difficult to define.

Well KT3...I think there are different ways of being spoiled...ie...Being pampered at home, waking up to your significant other running the shower for you so that the water is warm, or having your morning coffee waiting for you, massaging your feet becuz they are swollen *wink batman*, drying you off when you get outta the shower...gf there are sooooooooo many other ways of being spoiled other than materialistic things. Those are all fine and dandy...but its these kind of spoilings that really count!

Lisa if they are thinking along the lines of "pick a daisy for me along the side of the road" why are they posing like Playboy centerfolds?

Mimi's point was questioning this guy's intregity not simple pleasure in life.

Why point a finger at him when the decency of the female gender shoulder's the blame also.

True true true...point well taken :)

Ditto to what Maayan posted.

There are other similar profiles. When I read them I just laugh. Even if I met all their criteria these men are not someone I would want to know. But they are who they are, and strangely enough, there will be a young woman who meets the required criteria and will be more than happy to take him up on his offer. World travel, $10K USD/month ... that is alot of money to majority of people, and some people will do anything to live what they perceive to be the good life. I consider it a form of prostitution. Not a good life at all. Can you just hear this guy ordering her about? I wonder how long any intelligent, confident, and independent woman can tolerate being ordered about. Expect to forego the kids and house with the white picket fence. lol
Just know he's not for you, Maayan or me and many others, but he is for someone out there.
