I hate liver... for starters... this post moved from the Romance thread to its new residence on this thread...

so what food makes you go eeeeeuuuuwwww??

Why does everyone consider chopped liver a bad thing? Have you ever had liver and onions? It was tasty.

Mel - only you would come up with an answer like that - lol.

I'm with you Minny...eeeeeeuuuuuwwwww...I HATE liver! No amount of onions or sauce could make it taste better! lol

Now I used to say I hated coffee...then I experienced Baileys Irish Cream and coffee with 2 heaping teaspoons of sugar! YUM...Coffee tastes pretty good then! But nothing could make liver tast good...YUK! lol

Minny writes:

nope - nothing would improve the taste of liver for me!! nada, zilch!! LOL
well, maybe a clothespin on my nose and a very very bad cold where I have no sense of taste left at all... but nah.. that wouldn't help either cuz liver has a peculiar texture anyway - very dry and crumbly and hard to swallow....and I hate that too.

Spam is a mystery...I think its the leftovers after they feed the dogs at the animal shelters, then they just pack it in a nice shiny tin. Liver and I do not breath one anothers air.
I eat those big fat dill pickles..then drink the juice. Same with green olives. I love sweet peas, except i just eat em right out of the can. Banana and potato chip sandwiches are rather delightful as well. Peanut butter and honey....mmmm..it's also good as a food too. Lets see....frog legs are yummy,,and eating crawfish heads, they wouldnt let me say s*cking crawfish heads. Buttermilk pie. I do not eat sour cream for the simple fact that I am wary of anything that has an expiration date that is already "sour"

Minnie..you are so funny. I can't think of anything I would like to smell on someone's breath, except maybe a mint. I hate smelling coffee breath especially.

Toonces: I didn't know you could even eat possum and raccoon...!! What next?? Beaver...? How would you order that in a restaurant?? ("Waiter, I'd like a beaver please" - "of course Madam, would you like it stuffed? It's our Dish of the Day")

Kelli Minny wrote that one I KNOW you can eat that stuff...My ex even told me how they cook it!!!...YUK!!!!!

My all time favorite thing i absolutely refuse to cook is Boiled okra. It is the most gross thing ever to have a pair of eyes on. It is slimy and when you cook it it looks like snot. That is the closest i ever came to barfing when i first saw that being cooked!...LOL

Stat, I agree about the okra! Forgot to add it to my yuck/slimy list - lol.
Apparently there's a certain way of cooking it that eliminates the sliminess (just can't bring myself to say s-n-o-t.... eeeeeeuuuuww... LMAO)
but I don't think I even want to TRY!

Well where were you when i had to cook it the first time..LOL
Sorry for the gross description but in that one i can't think of another word to fit it....hehe!!

I LOVE black licorice. I hate sour cream. Me and the ex would have a power play. I would eat licorice and try to kiss him(he thinks it's gross) and he would hold me down and breath the sour cream on me which sometimes almost made me sick. One of those enjoyable bonding times but we had fun doing it..

LOL kinda like kiss me baby I just ate garlic! haha

Fried oysters are great but oysters are filter feeders and if you eat them raw long enough I think you can get hepatitis from them.

I love liver and onions and it is good for you, but I don't like the idea of eating brains, or tripe, which is made from the stomach of cattle, or blood, which I understand when fried tastes like scrambled eggs.

I understand some African tribes live on blood and milk from their bullocks. There is a kind of large sausage called blood pudding but to the best of my knowlege I have never seen or eaten any.

I've never eaten tongue.

There are people who eat bu*ll's te*sticles, they call them mountain oysters. I've never eaten them but if I was hungry why not? They are just beef.

I would not eat a snake, they seem to have a lot of bacteria and other such organisms.

I don't see how anyone can stand to eat raw oysters.

I bought some squid and some snails at the grocery store but neither tasted very good. Maybe you just have to know how to cook them.

I once ate some octopus from a small can like from a sardine can and it was delicious. I have tried to find some again but never have been able to do so.

I don't like licorice.

I sometimes feel sick if I drink red soda pop. I think it is the dye in it. One of my kids drank some red soda pop when he was little and vomited onto the carpet. The stain never came out until I had the carpet changed to linoleum. Wherever the old carpet is it is probably still there.

The sugar in cake gives me indigestion and tooth aches.

I hate bitter coffee. I like Folgers instant regular but a lot of coffee in restaurants is bitter.

I have never liked Spam.

The one thing that I most like on my na*ked stomach is a na*ked woman.

That's enough.

Hi Robotics, when you say...

I think the Europeans cook blood pies

....I wonder if you mean the traditional black pudding eaten in Yorkshire (yuuuukkkkk)lol...that is blood with lumps of white fat which is fried and usually eaten with bacon, eggs, etc

Wow, well that's quite a list Robotic! You reminded me... I also do not like licorice.
I think it's the Masai tribe who drink blood and milk. If you ever go to visit them, they will offer you a cup of blood and milk and if you don't drink it they will be offended.
There are also blood sausages here - have tried them - they're ok.. but not my favorite thing.
They do eat raw minced meat though. Pure ground beef, prepared with various condiments and chopped onions etc... it's very tasty if prepared properly.
I had lamb brains once or twice when I was about 5-6 years old. Not my favorite thing either.
And I just cannot bring myself to try te*sticles. They eat them a lot in France and Greece - considered a "delicacy".... thanks but no thanks...
OK fellas... no funny remarks about the delicacy part!

Speaking of foods I hate.

Many years ago as a young soldier in the 82nd Airborne Div. Ft Bragg NC, some friends and I had been out drinking all night and while driving back to the barracks we wanted to stop and get something to kill the munchies. The only place we found open was an Oriental restaurant. I say Oriental as my eyesight was impaired beyond the ability to discern the nationality of the owners, as were all my friends.

After much hoopla about nothing the waitress managed to get an order from each of us and left our table. When the order arrived I seen what appeared to be a bowl of tapioca in front of my friend. He began to hungrily shovel it into his face. He devoured it almost without chewing. I had a plate of fried rice and was content.

Once finished the waitress came by again and asked how everything was? Everyone was full of praise at how great everything tasted. Then she asked my friend if he has really enjoyed the soup? To which he replied you mean the pudding? She said, No the fisheye soup?

That is when he began to do the technicolor power-yawn all over the table while I and 3 other GI's did a mad scramble to get out of range.

I think I hate FishEye Soup.

Sacred - you mean after all that you're STILL not sure???

I used to think I didn't like Oysters. But then I dated someone who took me to an Oyster bar and did the ordering. He ordered about 6 different kinds of oysters...I had no idea there were different one's. They came in all sizes and they tasted differently. I wish I could remember what their names were. I tended to like the smaller one's better, they were not so strong in tasting fishy!
