There was a 1984 movie called 'Blame it on Rio', a great picture every time it's viewed, which captured resort life in Rio and Americans there living the crazy life and learning to grow up.
Anyway, I was trying to figure out how to use that as a segue into this thread, but gave up trying, no doubt because of the cumulative effects of 5 days of living irresponsibly and consuming at least 75% of my caloric intake during my there in white wine and beer.
Might I just interject here that this was a non-MM sanctioned event, cheapskates that they are. All they had to do was send a representative (or slip me a few dollars; hey! I'm not too proud) and they could have had a bonanza in free advertising. But, no, they left us to our own devices to make it known to each establishment which we graced that the MM Bomb Squad had arrived in force!
Anyway, thus it was that the Bomb Squad descended upon the wholesome town of Columbus, armed for fun and games. Some of the hard core out of town Squaddies such as myself, Linda (Toonces), Lisa (CatsMeow65), Suzan (Fun4Two) and Kim (SixFeetWTC) arrived on Thursday to get a jump on the festivities. We were met in the bar at the Marriott North by the events esteemed main planners Dave (LOOKATME2) and Mike (Cub39) as well as a surprise arrival, none other than Zack (1LovinLife) himself.
LOOKATME2 write: The Jim Lynch Band was aware of the Millionaire Match . com meeting at Jay Lindsay's on July 30th, 2005. The band provided flawless entertainment of rhythm and blues music to our "Bomb Squad" members energizing them for a great night of fun and dancing. I would like to say "Thank You" to Jim and his band members for making this night something to remember.
That they were flawless...Thank you Jim we had a wonderful time...I even learned a few steps I had no idea what I was doing...Must be a German thing hehehehe Sorry for the broken glasses when we bumped into the table lol :)

Toonces write: Here's what I blame on columbus: I blame columubus for meeting the most wonderful group of people anyone could ever meet. For meeting a couple of ladies who could be a best friend and are best cyber friends. For the most laughter I've experienced in years (ROTFLMAO), and the most alcohol I've consumed in years (oh my head!). For good food, great entertainment. And for tears on the way home 'cause I hated to leave everyone! Thanks Columbus - it's all your fault!

Lindsey's, some of us were hijacked by Andre to local goodfella's cigar bar establishment called Cemento's for late night coffee, and we were allowed to witness some "Columbus road-rage" along to way as the car beside us at a traffic light took a hard punch (which shattered a side window) from a very unhappy and exceptionally large young man. We discreetly left the scene without further incident and it was a very weary group of us usual suspects who straggled back to our rooms after 3AM.
And buddie some more........ I went to get some cigarets, and a big person just jumps right into my passenger seat, closed the door. I looked at him and he said you got money? I waited for a gun to come up, I had a few harsh words back and forth and long story short I'm here. BUT here is the KICKER. I called somone and they thought I said I got kidnapt by Ladies and laughing out loud until they realized what I was saying.mmmmmmmmmm LOLLLLLL
Wellllllllllllll what can I say...I would have lol Sorry for that dahlin!
Personally, I know I had fun! But most of all, to all of you who attended and enjoyed yourselves, give BIG props to the main planner and grand poobah of the party himself, Dave. This one's for you brother!
And Monday: Not knowing what to do with ourselves and ample time left before flights, the same six of us dragged ourselves out to the Easton Mall for lunch. Then it was a long flight home for Suz to Tennessee, an even longer one for Bill to Colorado, and the longest of all for Lisa to California. And for myself, a trip back out I70 to PA, trying desperately to record the memory of events in my head so that I could post them here.
Again, thanx to all the wonderful folks who joined us, with sincere inclusion to those whose names I've excluded. If you are in any part weak and weary as you've dragged yourselves back to work today, hey, all I can say is "Blame it on Columbus!" And, a big pat on the back to the planners for their tireless efforts (okay, not mine maybe) in getting the invites out to everyone who showed up, especially Mike.
Sunday: while this was listed as our "party by the pool" day in our event intinerary, this was now the third day of the "Sun and Fun" and most of the few of us who showed up after a good-bye to Jens and Linda were looking "rode hard and put away wet". Dave, by this time, had succumbed to the strain and was absent. Those of us who struggled out to dinner at the Olive Garden: Suzan, Lisa, Kim, tireless Mike, Bill and myself were getting the "thousand yard stare" by this time. Jens still favored us before his departure by showing off with the guys.

Also tearing up the dance floor with their moves were my "little sister and little German brother" Lisa and Jens. During a break for the band, Jens and the male event planners allowed a "photo opportunity" at stage front. Yeah.....the bu*tts.....sorry, check the old azz thread for reference.
However, it was no rest for the wicked and off to J. Lindsey's we went to hear the Jim Lynch Band. Truly super tunes that had us bustin' it on the dance floor and grooving in our seats. Joining us again were Connie, Oksana, Lena, Phil as well as the indefatigable Andre and Bella (Elle40) and others (again apologies for the names). This night was truly the capper with our rowdy crowd dominating the tables at stage front. Michael the DrummerBoy was truly no 'boy' and Mr. Lynch kindly allowed him to sit in behind the drum kit for one song, to wild applause from us all.
Again, shower, shave and whatnot, then it was of to the Spain Restaurant at the Best Western. Most of our friends from the previous few nights were along, and we were joined by Jens (Foraladie), Michelle (Micko nee Jacquelene2005), Ron (DrRepublic), Kute351 and others (again, I know, the names ... sorry). Took the opportunity to give props to the planners, particularly Mike and especially Dave, who was beginning to show the wear and tear of event planning!
