Which shows do you all like? Which ones make you laugh so hard you want to fall off your chair... whether they are American or British or Canadian... or Australian...? LOL

I mentioned this one to Six in the Thread about Bedrooms..... and have transferred it here.....

Six, what about Keeping up Appearances? Did you ever watch that? I used to watch it on BBC when I lived in Holland and it was sooooo funny!! Had me stitches!
And of course... Fawlty Towers... a classic.
Maybe we should start a new thread called: Your Favorite Comedy Show or something like that....

I LOVE British comedies - Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances (Hyacinth 'Bucket', lol), Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous, Blackadder, Carry On, Chef, Coupling, Father Ted, Adrian Mole, Man About the House, Mr. Bean, The Office, On The Buses, To The Manor Born, The Two Ronnies, Yes Prime Minister , even Benny Hill (as corny as it was)! These shows were broadcast in Canada when I was a kid (some still are I think), and when visiting with my grandparents my grandpa and I would watch them. They are so well written and acted, such wit!

Love those old Seinfelds..always had like 3 sub-plots that would wind together.

Barney Miller, where a bunch of non-conformist cops sat in an office was a riot. Specially the guy they would have in Jail.

SNL when Belushi,Chevy Chase, and Akroyd were in it..those were the days.

MASH was good too although I only saw a few episodes.

No, Mr Bean didn't play a policeman in that series (Allo, Allo). It was another guy who spoke English with a totally exaggerated French stupid accent and it was hilarious. LOL - I mean, NOBODY talks like that. They were really taking the pi*ss out of the French. But it was so funny...!

p.s. taking the pi*ss = Brit slang for making fun of ....

Someone had to come out with one sooner or later... LOL!!

Moony.. oh yeah, Cheers was excellent too, and Friends - the first few seasons. There are so many good ones. Many good writers.
But by far Frasier gets top prize with me! Apparently it was (still is?) the most popular American show in Britain.

Since it is the summer and I have an opportunity to actually watch TV I love "Everybody loves Raymoned" as well..and I have always loved "Friends" and "King of the Hill" is hilarious. I don't have cable to I don't know about any of those comedies but the old comedies back in the days were pretty funny....Of course, "I Love Lucy" is so funny.

I love Mr Bean - he's incredibly funny!
And Blackadder was good too. Allo Allo... that was hilarious!
- Leesen veree carefoolee, I weel onlee say zees once....
OR the French cop going:

follow moo.... instead of moi... LMAO!!

Some of Monty Python was great too.
And of course Keeping up Appearances. Loved Hyacinth Bouquet...!!

Re American shows: for me Frasier rates up there as number one! So well written and so funny and witty every single time. I think the writers for these shows are geniuses. Where do they come up with those great lines?? LOL
Seinfeld was good too and what little I saw of Everybody loves Raymond I liked as well.
