Since the start of the summer movie season has begun, I'd thought I would create this thread for anyone who would like to give a review or preview of any current or upcoming movies that they would like to share. I enjoyed reading about everyone's favorite movies so this one is dedicated to any new movies you are planning to see OR any new releases on DVD/VHS. Please feel free to write anything from major blockbusters to the smallest of indie films. Let us know what peaks your interest.

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my all time favorites. Think of all those images and fantasy confections: ever-lasting gobstoppers, lic*kable wallpaper, chocolate rivers, cream filled bowls that you can eat, and gum that tastes like a homecooked meal, minus the blueberry pie. I can never watch that movie too many times..and I always get hungry.

LOVE that one too!! Johnny Depp's version will be out July 15...they have him all made up though so he doesn't have that sexy Depp appeal...but will probably still be a great movie!!

S4U - Finding Nemo was very cute. The Incredibles was good too.
A few years ago, I also really enjoyed Antz and A Bug's Life too.
Wish we could go see MillionDollarBaby together.
What I really enjoy are open-air movie theaters! We have a lot of those in Athens (Greece) for obvious reasons: the weather is almost always good as of May until October. It's great to sit under the stars watching a movie!

i loved Finding Neno. I've watch it about 4 times and it is still so cute. It's just one of those animated movies that even us adults can enjoy. Minerva NO you are not the only one who hasn't seen Million Dollar Baby. I was going and they changed movies on me so am still working on that one. I really need to start going more often. Have a great theatre right down the street!!!!

I just saw The Interpreter, i liked it, i did stay awake, so thats a plus, and worth at least one thumb up,although i was a little lost in some parts of the movie, overall its worth going to see.
Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, were both great.

Okay ... watched "White Noise" tonight ... strange flick!! Anyone else seen it? What was your impression? To me it was kind of like "Ghosts" ... only with tv snow ... or what we used to call "maggot races"! LOL

Sorry ... my impression!

I finished watching "White Noise" today...Fun, you explained it to a T...not very good at all. I watched "Shall we Dance" with Richard Gere...a total chick flick, the kind I love..it was so sweet. Made me want to start ballroom dancing.

Sometimes the animated movies are more for adults that's for sure - lol!
I love Jack Nicholson - he's just great!
Robert de Niro too and Al Pacino...
oh lord, don't get me started - lol!

Never seen that one either Cubby but heard it was funny. I like the silly funny ones and I love the animated movies.... Shrek, Finding Nemo etc.. and the old Walt Disney classics. Another overgrown kid.... ;-)

OK Cub - you're on.
(now I'll let you guess which suggestion I'm agreeing to....)

HAHA! Me too Minerva! I ONLY get to see the DISNEY and animated!! My girls are 6 and 9 but the animated ones really are hilarious because they always tie in adult humor so we get our laughs too!!

I get away from the animated ones occasionally.. especially to see Jack Nicholson..ahhh that man is the sexiest hunk <>

Madagascar!! Took my kids and their friends tonight to see it!! Animated and based for kids..the adult humor had me LMAO!!! But I kinda wish the zebra (Chris Rock) had been Eddie Murphy...Eddie did such a stellar performance as the donkey in SHREK.. I kept visualizing the zebra the same but it was Chris Rocks' voice..
the music...everything From Sach Baron Cohen's groovin jams.. "I Like To Move It" with the scene of the Lemurs groovin!! ..to Louis B's "What A Wonderful World"..Madagascar has a great soundtrack!!..
Siskel would have said..thumbs up!!!

I haven't been to the movies in a few weeks so wish I could contribute something intelligent here - lol.
I would love to see Million Dollar Baby. I must be the only one who hasn't seen it yet. And Hotel Rwanda as well.
Fun - haven't heard of White Noise.
Did anyone see Being Julia with Annette Bening? I have it on DVD but haven't had time to watch it yet!
She's great. I like all her movies.

I saw the movie "Crash" this past weekend. I highly recommend it everyone. It is certainly not a first day movie though.
