FORUM / MSG BOARD is not time-delay CHAT - less is more. Message Board

Chat type interaction in the forum has quickly turned topics into very long threads of bickering, redundancy, pointless remarks, topic drift, and confusion.

Some of you should be reminded, this is a forum and message board, not a chat room.

Posting many messages in the same topic and engaging in conversation-like posting is bad etiquette.

Please, make your comment, perhaps a rebuttal if needed, and use E-mail or IM if you feel the need to have a conversation. Maybe this site will eventually get a chat room. 1-day delay from post to public reading is not conducive to good chat anyway.

If everybody commented on every comment, ...

I stopped reading. It stopped being fun. Fakes or those with clever avatars I do not find entertaining. They are more like annoyances.

This is both my opening and closing remark, in hopes of overwhelming support of my comment and a return to forum style posting in the forum.

Katie, email me and I will gladly open a thread or two on your behalf!

(and if you prefer I'll stay out of them too)

    Correct that I'll email you!

katie ithought you was a member , ihave one a chat room instead of this forum, if you go on adult friend finder you'll like there chat room. if you can handle the talk on there real dirty.

I'm not interested in discussing slease and smut, BB. I want to debate and refute grown-up, non-bathroom-humour subjects and start new interesting topics about anything else but Genital Edema Syndrome.

Actually, it ticks me off that those mysterious newbies and unknowns who pay their $20 can fill up the list of Forums with dopey topics that make no sense and yet I, who frequently has ideas for new topics... can't! So there are pages and pages of nutsy titles that no one writes in, and they only ever have ONE post ... from the one who started it. Maybe MM could delete the topics with only 1 post after a month or two so we can find the good threads that people have something to say about!

Or we could all go out for margueritas instead.

Contribute to what? The last time I was on MM was early Saturday morning, prior to last night. I come on here now, look for any new threads and if they remotely look appealing, I may throw a comment in. I refuse to sit and read through many of the threads anymore, it would be a 24-hour non stop job to get caught up because of the chat type interaction. I am also not a member anymore so I'm with Katie, can't create them. Now, if I were like others and wanting to talk about sex, in every romance forum then I would have something to say. I prefer, as you do (I haven't seen any posts from you on how much you like to be manhandled by someone), to stay away from them. That's my choice.

How you compared a public forum to voting is over my head and I'm still trying to figure that out. Are you saying that even if I don't like the "choices" of threads on here, I should contribute anyway? Kind of like not liking potential candidates but because I have a vote, I should vote anyways? That's kind of a lame argument, don't you think? Having a voice or say in something should actually count toward something, right? What would contributing to a thread, that I have no interest in count for?

Butter, how do you know this to be true? What was the criteria you used to make this statement? Have you been on MM since the inception of the forums? I haven't so I can't answer. Are you using the amount of posts being made to the forums on a daily basis as a baseline for your study? I certainly hope not. I never knew that at one point the forums were not popular. So, what are they 'saying?' Are the forum threads going to take the message board threads to the prom since they are both so popular?

BFD, I agree with you and have been saying the same thing now since the inception of the insta posts. Some of the other regular posters indicated back then that "it's not going to keep on like this, it's new, what do you expect us to do, it will die down." Am I guilty of sometimes taking advantage of it, sure I am, however it was much better when there was a time delay.

Maybe if everyone takes an extra second to question their post before hitting that submit button there could be some peace on here. "Is my post being critical of others? Am I being negative? Am I complaining?" I am not blaming others as I see myself doing it sometimes and I can admit it. I try and ask myself if I am writing to complain or would my post hurt others or offend? No one is perfect but we can complain all we want and not much will get solved. Complaining to Millmatch is a different story. This is a dating site and we are here to have fun. We are not all alike, have different points of view and express ourselves in different ways. I believe the more positive we can be the better. If you offend someone and they have said so, delete your post. I have done it if I can see I wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote it.

BFD - all you men do is sit back and read in cryptic silence! You don't respond anymore, you don't contribute, you don't start new trains of thought and half of the new people on MM now don't even know who the heck you are!!! Maybe if you joined in and helped us! The few regular posters who were left behind by you fellas have been trying our damndest to steer the topics to discussion format, we nearly had it too, but we couldn't do it alone and it got away from us again. I just gave up.

Don't be such "girly, prima donnas," gentlemen! Join in or accept the forum for what it's become. Just a blah, blah, blah, blah, blah place.

Step up to the plate boys, and give us a hand!
