If we get to choose our behavior but not the consequences; do our choices attract people and experiences into our lives for which we are accountable?

For every action we commit there is a reaction. Whether or not others are pulled to our actions is inconsequential. We are responsible for our own actions as every one else out there is for their own. Others may choose to follow what you do but it is ultimately their choice thus leaving them alone, just as you are, with their own consequences to deal with.

I am sure that I choose all my experiences, and the outcome according to what I believe about me. It took me a long time to admit that I really needed to change my life by changing my thoughts. The movie What The Bleep Do We Know put it all into perpective for me!!! Now I know I can create what I want!!!!

If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten...

Not choosing to accept responsibility is a choice in itself, and sometimes life will leave you accountable regardless of your intent/preference...

Definitely! I just posted in another topic explaining how I realized that the choices I had made resulted in outcomes that were not desireable in any way. Once I realized I was making choices stemming from my "brokenness" I decide to mend the pieces, which changed my outlook and now I'm able to make better choices.

I used to think, "Why are men such jerks". I realized that ALL men aren't jerks, I just chose those that reflected my self-worth at that time. But now that I've changed so has my awareness and selection process.

I am responsible for me and the choices I make. We all have the ability and "CHOICE" to change who we are and who we allow in our lives.

Oh My... you asked a very intricate question and everyone who replied did not understand or blew ya off, girl!

You asked: "If we get to choose our behavior but not the consequences; do our choices attract people and experiences into our lives for which we are accountable?"

I say, yes, your choice of behavior WILL attract -- and then you must deal with the consequences. Honey, you ARE accountable for what goes on in your life. You do the deed, you pay the price. You are accountable for what you do in your life. Think of it this way ... if you did something bad, then try to make up for it. And always in life, do good to others, for this will come back to you tenfold, believe me!
I am not even sure I completely understand your question, so if you want to detail more, please do. We're here to listen and help!

Throughout the universe there is order in the movement of the planets, in nature and in the functioning of the human mind
A mind that is in its natural state of order is in harmony with the universe and such a mind is timeless
Your life is an expression of your mind
YOu are the Creator of your own universe for as a human being you are free to will whatever state of being you desire
through the use of our thoughts and words,
And there is a great power there,
Can be a blessing or a curse, is entirely up to you.
For the quality of Life is brought about by the quality of your thinking
    THINK ABOUT THAT

    Thoughts produce actions
Look at what you are thinking
See the pettiness and the envy, the greed and the fear and all the other attitudes that cause you pain and discomfort
REalise that the one thing you have absolute control is your attitude
See the effect that it has on those around you
For each life is linked to all life
and your words carry with them a chain reaction like a stone that is thrown into a pond
If your thinking is in order
YOur words will flow directly from the heart
    creating ripples of Love
If you truly want to change the world
    You must change your thinking
    Reason is your greatest tool
It creates an atmosphere of Understanding
which leads to caring which is Love
    CHOOSE YOUR WORDS WITH CARE

-Extract from 'Time'...thought this was a very appropriate extract to share with everyone..

Definitely. Consequences? I'd call them perceptions.

It's my illusion as I chose to see it. Ultimately it is all my responsibility. So, I can have whatever I want and always do although my ego would beg to differ.

It is my opinion that there is no free will so we do not make any choices, it just seems like we do.
We are all a bunch of particles, electrons, protons, neutrons, atoms, molecules, particles each of which is subject to the natural laws of its own properties and the forces acting upon it. The sum total of what the particles do is what we do and vice versa. There is no escape.

Our minds are not something different from our brains. The mind is one function of the brain. How the particles of the brain are arranged determines everything we are and everything we do.

It is not a fixed but an ongoing process that is determined by how we start out as well as all the experiences we have.
