Spring has finally arrived and this is my favourite time of the year! Just love the freshness, the bright lime green colour of trees coming into bloom. Here's a picture of my Kwanzan Japanese Cherry, so pretty and delicate, but unfortunately the blooms don't last long, but I did enjoy them!
Haven't added any garden pictures for ages, so here are a few from Winter '07. We had one of the worst winters in 50 years this past winter both for snowfall, gray skies and cold. Looking at these shots though, they are beautiful!
I was raking leaves last weekend (I have half an acre surrounded by oaks and pines) and was surprised to see two of my azalea bushes had flowers on them one pink and another white at different parts of the garden. Can you explain why these two bushes would have started to bloom at this time of year?
Don't know for sure, but some things do bloom a 2nd time late in the season. We had an unusually warm fall and I still had some roses blooming until the last few days. My brother has an amazing white iris that blooms beautifully for a 2nd time every fall, at Thanksgiving in October it was full of blooms. He transplanted these irises from his home to his cottage because they always bloom late.
All I know is I sure would enjoy them while they're blooming! It will be quite a while before we get to enjoy again.
