Informative blog and a good example of what is out there in the world. Being alert all the time is probably the best approach to any new interactions in cyber and in life.
Thank you for the information and so too on the "Scammers etc" blog Brittany. I joined the site recently after investigating a bit and was referred by quite a few. Although I did not expect that the scamming will be high on here it is not a complete shock to me either. No different in real life for that matter.
However, I am still proceeding with full verification on my side but maybe it could be a good option that one of the requirements to join (even for the free membership) should be verified by proof of identity. It will not eliminate all scammers but it should decrease the quantity substantially.
Greetings from beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.
Oh and PS: Personally I would also prefer to be requested to supply certified documentation of a clean criminal record and also see the same on the profiles I interact with.
I had the same thing happen to me only it was a male, who was a engineer and he was paid by check and he sent me a copy of his flight details. On the day that he was flying out he had a fire at his unit and the cook was burnt. Both were at the hospital and he needed money to pay for his flight and also pay for the cook in hospital. Money could only be wired to him as he had no credit cards or friends that he could ask for help. I think he is still waiting for someone to help him, I hope other woman see through his scam and other like him.
there are tons of sites that EXPOSE SCAMMERS just google search for Nigerian scammers, dating site scammers, exposing dating site scammers....you will see the links are endless but many of the sits have photos and report the sams being used.
I want to thank you for exposing these low life people. It angers me and upsets me that there are so many fake people around. I have come across 2 scammers in the past couple of months and have now noticed a photo of the 3rd that I met through another site.. This man was on a site called Metrodate and claims he went off the site of his own accord, I now realise he was probably reported as a scammer and blocked. This man who was called Fredrick334 and Fredrick007 has been emailing me being quite nice and loving..Well thankyou for exposing him to me..I know where he can go now..
I am also thinking that there may be a 5th scammer in contact with me, again through a differant site.
Strange thing that I've noticed is that alot of these scammers seem to put a full name as their profile name not a nickname..hmm
It truly saddens me that its so hard to find a nice, honest, sincere and loving man now days.
Oh My GOD! I am chocked there are so many players and scammers in this web site.....I only joined recently for the first time for one month and I will definitely get out while I can. I will delete my profile and close the account soon.................sick, sick people who have nothing to do in their lives but be sick., evil nasty, filthy...................they have big void and they fill it with satan's work!..............I hope they stay that way forever and hope I will never know any of them...................
I just got scammed and I;m just appalled that this site is that bad, is it with it to stay on here ???? I did report this guy "supervior45" and they have blocked him they said whatever that means "blocked" ..
Can you give me some things to look for as this seems to be so rampid??
For over a year now, I have been posting scammers on here and the blogs.¿ It is turning out to be very time consuming to double post, so I have decided that since the blogs appear to get more readership than the forum, that I will only post on the SCAMMERS/TROLLS/PERVS & GOLD DIGGER blog.¿
Thanks to everyone for your input and support.¿ I hope you will join me on the blog.
I have not chatted with you in a while. I hope you are doing good. BTW- I have been playing a player that is a member here on MM. She/He/Whomever go by the name of Mary Dersilver. Says she is here in the United States, but the last time I chatted with her, she had to go to England for her company. I received an e-mail that she wanted to come and see me,but her passport has expired and she wanted to know if I would fly her from Heathrow in London to my ranch in Texas. So she wants the air fare, and money to get her passport current. So I am having a fun time playing the player, lol. I forgot her user ID on MM, but when I come across it again, I will send it to you Brittany, but until then I plan to have some more fun with her, LMAO. These scams can be fun some times, and are amusing until I get tired of playing. Also, she contacted me, as I surmise she has contacted others on MM as well. Just be aware of Mary DerSilver. Well, I think I will go, I am contemplating on heading home back to my residence in Los Angeles since I have been here at my ranch in Texas and have not been in Hollywood/Los Angeles since June. Enjoy, and stay healthy. Chat with you soon.
My first experience on a dating site was a scam.. Fortunately I did not fall for his scam..I reported him to the FBI and they said there are so many out there that it is impossible to target just one... Knowledge is power so I pray that eveyone becomes knowledable and knows their MO. They are usually widowed. In some cases they have ben robbed and their daughter is in the hospital... I love to play along to the point they are expecting money from me. Then I get them..I tell them I cannot wire monopoly money for some reason. Anyway I share your story.
Thanks britanny for the scammer's list. I have more, if fact I think that 50% of the men that contact me are bogus. It is frustrating on this site, and makes me think that my membership is wasted. I think it would be easier to reconcile a "good" list, so at least when we look at profiles, we know it is real... I wish MM would actually check the profiles a bit more (even if does cost more it would be money well spent)...
Still looking, but it's trying to find a diamond in a heap of trash..
