A week ago, I had to put my daughters two older horses to sleep...I was so difficult...both were over 30, and were having health issues the last year...the vet thought that it would be best before the situation became more emergent....and they deserved nice quiet departures....we owe them that for the many happy miles in the past...but still it is a great loss...
of courageous animals....

it is hard to say good bye to a best friend, i rode one of mine until he died, i wanted to also, he was my best buddy, and i felt so alone without him, beebopp...lol even when i got a new horse, they are like kids, different personalities and he was like a reicarnated friends for another life,lol...i love horses...

I miss riding...I am always too busy working to justify the work and expense of horseownership...It would not be fair to the horse....

I had one horse...I had trained him myself..from a three-year-old, so sweet...he would gallop to the barn when he saw my car....he loved to ride...I had a cross country course there....it was before the divorce....
He had a wonderful loving soul....

Lucky! You're so lucky!! (what a pun, huh??) ;)
I love horses too. I only got a chance to ride them for a couple of years on a regular basis. I'd like to get back into that.

Yes,
When I was young I exercised race horses.....and the is no feeling like
1200 to 1400 POUNDS OF PURE MUSCLE BETWEEN YOUR LEGS...nothing sexual here. Just PURE POWER.

The next closest feeling of power rush for me was standing on the line at snap (football) and feeling the earth rumble under the pounding of the men the first three seconds of the play.

wow....adrenaline....way fun....
I need to find some more....
I wonder if it is like that to fly a jet?
anyone know?
Lucky

btw...I had my first pony until he was 38 years old...I miss him still.
He was the best friend a girl could have growing up....

Hi JockyGirl, there is someone you may be interested in meeting, he's pretty handsome, and is all about horses. His username is horsemusicalfestival. I know, its a long one. Anyway good luck to you and welcome. I have been having a lot of fun here. Haven't found "him" yet, but what else is new. I have met some interesting prospects although. We will see in time where this takes us. Have fun!!

Well, maybe Kiwi's photos ended up on the net and jockey downloaded them from somewhere. I have a friend who is an avid rock-climber and he takes pics all the time. He saw his picture a few times on the net on different websites; when you forward or send pics by email, some people probably just put them on a website thinking nothing of it.

It's like all the pics that we post, LOOK,in the forums, anyone can download them and keep them. So who knows where they might end up!!

I am more of the "Dad, I want to go trail riding." So we go. "Dad, I need a new helmet, boots, and gloves." So it is off to Mary's Tack & Feed. "Dad, when is my next lesson at Beth's Riding School?" I make my next payment.

I love horses too. Mine is more the slow trail ride.
