What a great topic, something we animal lovers just adore discussing.....our much loved companions. I have two sons, a Bichon Frise named Texas Angel Baybi who has loads of attitude, so on those occasions, we refer to him as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, don't be fooled by the cute face...boy can he get into trouble, then there is Frances Albert, my chihuahua, he is an angel with blue eyes, named after, you got it old blue eyes. These two are not dogs, they are family and I am proud of them!

I have a beautiful big ball of fur named Bella. In the canine world she is a pomeranian but in our house she thinks her pedigree is Miss America. She is twelve pounds. She lives for snacks and likes to bark.

Those are great pictures Dunn! Funny how the motherly side of dogs comes out at the weirdest moments. I love Bernese Mountain dogs and will probably be getting one sometime in the future. That puppy photo made me want to just reach in and play with the little guy

Oh yes he was just wonderful, I miss him more than words can say..You won't regret having a Bernese and being a strong male(of course lol) you will be able to handle the strength of them..They are SOOOO strong, Oscar could pull me off my feet easily..even as a young dog..lol he used to have this habit of pushing his nose into your bum and he could lift you up onto your toes..lol once he jumped up to welcome a friend..she was sat on a kitchen chair..he pushed her along the floor from one end of the kitchen to another,,this was all in the boisterous puppy stages though. Heres another photo of him..

Hi Champagne,

I've been here for a few weeks and can't beleive I just found this thread..better late than never so they say..I just LOVE dogs.I was lucky enough to have a wonderful Bernese Mountain dog called Oscar..He's not with me now though. Just a few doors away a friend of mine found a baby deer at the side of the road..when he brought it home his dog took to it and we all were amazed how motherly (although a dog)it was to the baby deer..I just love this photo a friend sent to me of the same thing..

Very cute dog! I love the dobermans. It is unfortunate that some dogs get have bad reputations as being 'mean'. As I said before it all comes down to how they are raised and yours looks great!

Hi Everyone!

I have had 2 dogs and 4 cats over the past 30 years, so I am truly in both camps loving both.

I had a Doberman for 14 years, black and tan, with the kindest disposition you could ever want. The worst thing he did was scare a mouse to death, I found it floating in our pool, rescued it and put it in the garden to recover. My Dobi went to check it out, licked it, and I think the poor mouse died of shock.

I now have a miniature pinscher, also black & tan. He's a tiny version of the big Doberman, but just a total whirlwind. He's extremely smart, very loving, and a perpetual motion machine. I've never seen a dog with so much energy! He just turned 8 this past July and hasn't slowed down a bit.

He leaps off my deck chasing birds, squirrels, airplanes, etc. It's absolutely hilarious to watch. He spins at an amazing speed for dinner, treats or to be let out. He also closes his own door of his crate when you tell him "Go Home". One smart cookie, his name is Spartacus, like the little Roman soldier. He makes me laugh many times a day, and is happiest when sitting in my lap. Dogs really do love unconditionally.

Wee...when you ask like that I almost wish I was breeding ;-) If my dog were to have babies it would have to be some immaculate conception because she has been spayed. They require that here when you adopt a dog. I think it's a good idea b/c of over-population but I could picture some beautiful pups coming from her ;-)

Thanks Wee! I was wondering where she came up with that question. Sorry to hear about your dog but it is nice that you were able to have a friend for 12 years. I am sure she gave you lots of smiles and wet kisses to remember her by

This is my lil Princess. She is about 2 and a half years old I think. I got her from my upstairs neighbor who forgot her in the backyard last summer. He got her from the neighbors 2 houses down. They moved to Utah and left her behind. Now she is all mine! Can anyone believe the original owners want her back after they left behind in their yard for almost a week?

Saying goodbye to her was hard as she layed there for 2 hours before she was carried out on a stretcher from the SPCA... she was a big dog I gave her last hugs and kisses in the SPCA VAN THAT ARRIVED TO take her away....opps sorry for the caps

SHE WAS A DINGO/Australian sheppard....very protective and could be nasty if she felt a threat however extremely devoted to all members in my family...still miss her
