To each their own, eyes of the beholder. Who can change either? If you do not find someone attractive in what ever physical form they have what does it matter? You are not attracted!

If you are jealous of someone for their physical appearance then bear your claws and show your ignorance.

Have you watched women in a mall, restaurant etc. checking each other out?

Will any woman admit they do it? Why? I know the answer but not telling! Well maybe to you Hondo.

.

I know what you are talking about. Some of those looks in the mall are downright nasty. The old hairy eyeball.

The old hairy eyeball??? Could you tell me what that is, cause I don't know.

Devo...I'll admit to check other women out, but not all women, just one's that would catch anyone's eye...extremely beautiful, not necessarily beautiful but they are wearing the most stunning outfit and I wish I knew where they bought it, they have piercings everywhere that they make themselves standout in a crowd...stuff like that!

Just stepped into this post.

Like others have stated, society dictates what the perfect man/woman is. Sadly it is the 'Barbie' features. From reading through profiles on various dating sites, some men are up front that they can only handle a pretty face, super slim figure, but some don't really put out inner qualities and then complain the woman turned out to be a gold digging cow. I wonder how many realise that they may have missed out on their soulmate due to their own shallow requirements.
Due to the Barbie look, Barbies are labled dumb 'blondes', ditzes, the list goes on.

Generalisation can be dangerous. :) I know that there are real guys out there looking for a woman who doesn't have to look like Barbie to get their attention.

There are guys out there who are more interested in the inner beauty of a woman, her mind, rather than outside appearance. They are the ones whose intelligence equals that of a rocket scientist or are gifted going down the IQ scale. However, all agree that there has to be some sort of physical attraction. I love chatting to guys that are either card carrying members of MENSA or qualifies for it as my most rewarding and satisfying conversations have been with them. They were more interested in my opinions and what I thought about certain topics than looks, though I got a couple of compliments. These are the guys that don't feel threatened by me being self sufficient and expressing opinions. They get labelled NERDS, sensual nerds at that :). Again society is to blame. I'd think that as intelligent people, we'd break past these labels and look deeper.
Everyone wants someone who is real and have inner qualities, as long as they come in a Barbie or Hulk package.

However, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Yes, balance of qualities is the key! Some of us are looking for the "Total Package" of beauty, brains, and emotional stability. Since we are looking, why settle for only 2 out of 3, whichever the 2 might be!!!

ROFL, I got a kick out of the term "sensual nerd" btw. But there is no reason that nerds can't be inshape physically as well as mentally.

I understand what you are saying Hope. The only Barbie I would want would be Dr Barbie. (Let me know if you change your name to Barbie and I'll say Hope Barbie too)

Hondo, our darling man!!!

PS For the benefit of the new posters: WeeLassy is also known as "Dr Barbie", because she is a beautiful medical doctor.

Darling??? Me???

Intelligence and Moxie...that's what makes a lady desirable to me. MMMMMMMMM, am I in love or in desire?

Oh, stop it! You know everyone on the forum thinks you are a darling! But, even though I know you are a master at accumulating compliments, I fall for it every time, Sweet Hondo!!!

Not everyone I fear. Some want nothing at all to do with me. I guess they see the real me through all of my blarney.

Kindly stop this: you are merely contributing to our bad reputation!

whatever, I still think at 42, I'm a barbie girl in a barbie world, but no plastic, just good genes and a great personality...by the way your blonde, or am I seeing things,lol...

I rest my case: a self proclaimed Barbie who is unable to understand what she is trying to read!!! So, for your benefit, I'll explain: I wrote that they are contributing to "OUR", repeat "OUR" bad reputation. Do you now understand, BlondeIndian, that I thereby confirmed the fact that I, too, am blonde??? If not, I give up and wish you well on your cloud of blissful ignorance. However, I do believe you could make a good case for suing these universities who gave you "4 degrees"!
PS You asked for this! Now I am boringly awaiting your vulgar stupid response: that is if you have in fact not changed as you proclaimed to have done!

PS Rob, I get your point! But do you understand mine: I feared that it would esculate and "our" reputation would suffer! And it did!

Una mujer debe quererse asi misma. Aprender a amarse, a cuidarse, a sentirser y verse bien.

I thought basic English was taught in Elementry School? Something she lacks. OH But wait she has changed and seen the light of day or should I say God...lol. Wow did she not say this before?...lol

Goodness, people!

Think of the term "wealthy and wise." Not all have both. Those that have, also see they have the so-called "hotties" complete attention. They're cautious (the wealthy and wise). If a beautiful woman is "totally" attracted to you without knowing you, and knows you're wealthy, guys know better. They may "enjoy" the relationship, knowing it's most likely temporary, but they (us) are far from ignorant.

Who doesn't want beauty, for themselves and those around them? But the "wise" know that it all fades, on both sides. It's rare to find both. My x-wife, supermodel-looking by any standard, married me when I was jobless, not knowing of the "trust." It didn't work out.

Unless you're able to sort through the superficial layers, you'll never find your dream. Wealthy men know that money doesn't give you crap, but options. Joy and happiness doesn't factor.

Oh, let's not put a gender bias on the superficiality of it... I think all the women here are arguing just fine!!! LOL

Hey, Rob! Have you read the title of this thread?!

Yes, I read the title of the thread, but I was actually repling directly to her quote. Perhaps my inferred meaning was lost! LOL... She said "leave it to the silly men to argue" to which I replied that the "women seemed to be arguing just fine", hence inferring "SILLY WOMEN", in my SOP of "there is no gender bias to this"...

Rob, no argument required. There isn't a woman with a brain in her head that would want a man who wanted her because she looked like a Barbie! What does that say about him? Narcissistic! Arrogant! Pompous! Need I go on? Not exactly qualities that would define the character of a man we'd want!
Ask yourself...do you want a Barbie? lol

I don't want a barbie... I like my women a little taller than 12", and prefer building materials other than plastic/silicone!!! But that is not to say that given a choice of emotionally balanced/stable women with an intelligent mind, I will pick the woman whose physical apperance most closely matches my personal preferences...

That I think is the key to what makes the non-barbies so infuriated... They can only advertise a half package instead of the whole shebang... pardon the pun!

Don't mean to burst your bubble...but "sl*ut" is rather derogatory, good lover would be more politically correct and tactful.
BTW it's a 2-way street. Any woman who is a good lover, wants a good lover in return. It's giving and receiving...not give & take!Unless of course she's only after the money, which is probably the case in the scenario you describe! Ugh!

thegoodlife 2005, whoever you are, I congratulate you for your perception, the educational wisdom and knowledge you shared in relationships etc..but men do care about your brain and character though if you have not met them yet you probably have been looking in the wrong places. I'm always attracted to beauty but I also know the motto "never judge a book by its cover " Brain, character and personality is weighted as much as beauty in my book.

I wouldn't be saying this without the experience about it, I assume you do too.

Bonne chance a vous.
