Oh, let's not put a gender bias on the superficiality of it... I think all the women here are arguing just fine!!! LOL

Hey, Rob! Have you read the title of this thread?!

Yes, I read the title of the thread, but I was actually repling directly to her quote. Perhaps my inferred meaning was lost! LOL... She said "leave it to the silly men to argue" to which I replied that the "women seemed to be arguing just fine", hence inferring "SILLY WOMEN", in my SOP of "there is no gender bias to this"...

    sharp1 write:

Rob, no argument required. There isn't a woman with a brain in her head that would want a man who wanted her because she looked like a Barbie! What does that say about him? Narcissistic! Arrogant! Pompous! Need I go on? Not exactly qualities that would define the character of a man we'd want!
Ask yourself...do you want a Barbie? lol

I don't want a barbie... I like my women a little taller than 12", and prefer building materials other than plastic/silicone!!! But that is not to say that given a choice of emotionally balanced/stable women with an intelligent mind, I will pick the woman whose physical apperance most closely matches my personal preferences...

whats wrong with 'barbie doll' girls anyway? its not like they dont have personalities because they look a certain way !

That I think is the key to what makes the non-barbies so infuriated... They can only advertise a half package instead of the whole shebang... pardon the pun!

OK, Now I know this is going to rub a few the wrong way but its the truth. Most men want a Hot, Intelligent, Sweet, Lady (girl) who also knows how to be a sl*t. The men who can afford it surly do and the women who want the better life usually try to live up to his expectations. Many times deep feeling do grow in a relationship like this. There is a lid for every pot in the cupboard. What you cook in the pot is up to the both of you. In our life we do have the freedom of CHOICE. If you don't try something you will never know if you like it or not. Lets not be judgmental but open minded. Happy New Year and may Y'all find your pot.

thegoodlife 2005, whoever you are, I congratulate you for your perception, the educational wisdom and knowledge you shared in relationships etc..but men do care about your brain and character though if you have not met them yet you probably have been looking in the wrong places. I'm always attracted to beauty but I also know the motto "never judge a book by its cover " Brain, character and personality is weighted as much as beauty in my book.

I wouldn't be saying this without the experience about it, I assume you do too.

    Bonne chance a vous.

Personally to me, I am a high maintenance type of guy. I believe that a lady should take care of her body inside and out. I wouldn't call them "Barbie Dolls" just becuase, they have a perfect body. Aslo, when you say, "Real love or a barbie doll" are you trying to say good looking woman can't give the same love and passion as an overweight unattractive female? To make a long story short I only date "10's" no 9's, 8's or 7's.

    Are you a 10?
    Cause only a 10 would date a 10!
Unless of course you fall into the category of Donald Trump or Bill Gates! LOL

I would consider myself as a 10, becuase I am in very good shape. I work out 3 times a week. I don't smoke or drink.

Why do some people automatically assume that because a woman is blonde, fit, and petite that she MUST lack intelligence, character, personality, and self-confidence?

Oh, and she cannot possibly be a "real love!" Weren't those the two choices? A skinny barbie doll "girl" or a true love?

I have four college degrees, and at 42 on thursday, feel pretty smoken...so,I don't believe any of this, there are smoken barbies and kens at 40 and above, look at the age of most of the popular actors and singers, 40 and above, or close to it....

    blondeindian,

I have three degrees myself and plan to start on my doctorate in the spring. What bothers me about this particular thread is the assumption that a so-called "Barbie" (a woman who takes care of her BODY as well as her mind) cannot be "real."

    Gem

I agree with you, on this, we are older barbies, like it or not, and i think that is ok...

As Marilyn Monroe explained in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: "Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty, but my goodness, doesn't it help?"

Don't feel sorry for the rich man and the Barbie doll -- they know exactly where they stand with one another. Donald Trump and Melania Knauss are a perfect example. This man couldn't attract a bag lady if he were broke, and Melania MIGHT throw him a couple of bucks if she passed him on the street. The same can be said for her -- an ugly Melania, with the same exact personality and education (or lack thereof), would never attract the power and money of a Donald Trump.

I would love to be a fly on the wall during dinner at the trump house -- what do you suppose they talk about? Politics? Current affairs? The state of the union? The stock market? Louis Vuitton? I'm thinkin' they probably just eat in bed...

    Hmm

Well To me not a millionaire yet cause I spend all my money on havin fun, hehe. But true love is hard to come by because most just see your fancy car or your nice house or things like that, but barbie doll? If thats what ya like I wont stop ya but for me just anygirl who is confident within themselves and knows who she is is much more attractive. I like everyone best if they are themselves all the time.
