Expiry date Lifestyle

An 80 year- old lady I know has only one ambition in her life each day which is to outlive the expiry dates of the freshly packed food she buys everday from the supermarket.

If God has stamped our own expiry dates on our bottoms when we were born, would we live our lives differently? Or better still if he adds an ironic twist to it and mixes up our expiry dates, what then??

Which now moves us to the next level of thinking......

    * along comes a Cat5 storm and wipes out 3000 square miles and kills 972 people, we will call this "Katrina".....now their are people on CNN saying it was an act of God.

    * a large object falls out of the sky that weighs more than Rhode Island and puts the earth in darkness thus killing everything alive......this too is an act of God!

    * your in an airplane and look down at the houses, buildings, mountains.....and you think to yourself...humm, everthing looks so small...like ants, and it wouldn't take much to wipe it off the face of the planet...another thing also comes to mind that all those houses have mortages and car payments and kids....very similair to what the ants are up too!

What does all this mean....I don't know...lol, you tell me!

In a nutshell..whether in the kingdom of men or ants- we are all dispensable and insignificant.

My greatgrandmother lived to 101.5 and never did loose her mind. My Mom lived to 91.5 and was of sound mind.

And then here I am. Been nuts for 60 years.

My grandparents lived to their late nineties, my mother is in her early eighties, so the odds are good that I'll live long too.

Bonnie, I remember when my grandmother was in her mid-70's...she said she didn't want to live into her nineties, because she feared she would be all alone. Well, she did out live all of her friends, but she made new friends who were in their 70's and they played bridge together, until the last year when her memory went completely. That was heart breaking to witness for such a sharp witty old lady!

To stave off Alzheimers in old age, I plan to take up bridge and piano lessons now..the best way to keep one's mind ticking..as for friends, I play mentor to lots of kids half my age, hopefully they will be around in their 70s when I hit 90s...lol..and having a toy boy that age ain't a bad idea...lol

I once did the same sort of longevity test like Robotic..and since i don't smoke or drink and both sets of grandparents lived till their nineties and my parents are in their late 70s and healthy...barring unforeseen circumstances, the test claimed that I may live to 110...help me..I don't want to be around that long..have been making friends with kids , so that they will be around if I should live to that age..and also maybe should start drinking and smoking..lol

    BONNIE88

It is not so much that I am lucky. I have never smoked, and I have lived a fairly healthy lifestyle. I was lucky to have the common sense to do that.

If I live 20 more years I will be 95 and most people don't live even that long.

I think death is a kick in the a*ss. No matter what kind of life you live you can't escape it.

As an atheist I don't think I will be going anywhere except six feet under. But still I would like to stay around for awhile because I think some very cool things are going to happen in the next 100 years and I won't be around to see most of them.

As for the expiration date, I took an on-line longevity test the other day and it said that I should have expired June 1, 2003. Ah, Ha, Ha, Ha

Well since I can't see my b**t well without a mirror and getting into an awkward position, I don't think it would do much good. Besides, it would be upside down in the mirror and with my luck I'd read the date wrong. That could be very embarassing.

    Hey guys,
I have come to the conclusion several threads later, that both men and women at least here on this forum find the bu*tt or AZZ or tail far more interesting than the bust as part of the human anatomy...
    I wonder why?? lol
    care to elaborate?

Robotic..wow at 75, you sure have over 27,000 days to reminisce , that is a lot of memories to remember and cherish..and you are still adding to that wealthy bank of memories.
    YOu are one lucky guy!

Ever wondered if you were writing your own obituary what would it read like?

I think mine would be something along these lines:

'Party girl had a great time burning both ends of her candle... no mourning please , come in mulfties and party gear and celebrate the joy of having enjoyed her company..she is watching from above, when and where is the next party?..ps..busy organising heavenly parties..God is a bit short-handed..and heaven sure needs some live action..if I make it there..think hell is more fun?'

It is true most people don't want to know when their time is up..live and let live that seems to be the general drift..

yet so many of us would make long term plans with our lives...so why that compulsion??
My son believes he will make sure he spends every cent before he dies.. the sort who wants to leave this world owing something than leaving something behind..he sure does not believe in delayed gratification...
