Thanks for doing us all a service with your very knowlegeable critique on the subject. I almost didn't take Izabel because she was wild and totally untrained. I had German Shepherds before so I knew what she could become with some love and training. It's been 1 1/2 years now and she still has a few rough edges, but she is really a great dog. I figure another 6 months and she will be really mellowed out. Keep posting. Your posts are more important then a lot of the stuff a lot us post...Bill
LOL. Sharp. I don't think you live at the North Pole. You look much too good to remind me of Santa Claus. I just thought coyotes were mainly in the southwestern U.S. You had a pack. I usually see one and sometimes two. I am more conerned about Izabel or me encountering a rattle snake. I had quite a scare a couple of weeks ago. I was on my way out the door to get my mail. Izabel was already out and as I was stepping through the door I heard the rattle. I froze and not 5' away was a very big, very upset, coiled rattle snake. I thought for sure Izabel would get too close and get bit. I screamed at her to come and fortunately she came straight to me. The fire dept. came and removed it. Talk about a wake up. I sure didn't need a nap that day. I am LOL now, but I sure wasn't then. I suppose you have rattle snakes as well...Bill

Bill...where do you think I live, the North Pole? lol
We have deer, coyotes (tons), wolves, bears (brown, black & grizzly - highest population of grizzly), cougar, ducks, geese, rabbits, bluejays, lots of birds, etc. lol
Indigo, my Aussie X Border collie can also handle herself with coyotes...not my golden. Indigo is wise & cautious with them now. 2 yrs ago, I went away for 2 days, borded the golden & left her at home as the previous owners always left her out. She came with the property! lol Anyways, she had a run in with 2 or 3 coyotes...the ambushed her. She never even let on she was injured. I noticed it when I ran my hand down her side. 10 days at the Vet, first 5 on antibiotics to get the swelling down before they could stitch it closed. 10 days later after the first stitches were removed, they had to stitch a second time for another 7 days. It was a bad wound! She'll never let them ambush her again.
Roben, What you said about adopting pets is very important. I agree with you 100%. I wish I had thought to say that myself. Izabel(in the photo)is a rescue from the humane society...Bill
True Story:
(They say Never work with Animals or kids)
As part of my Job I have to do regular appeals on TV in hope to rehome some of the Homeless Dogs & Cats. One day while showing off a cute 3 legged Collie called Rolf, I was explaining that having 3 legs was not a disability for 'Rolf' as he had adapted to his loss of limb remarkably well, Without thinking I blurted out the fact that he loved 'having his stump rubbed' totally innocent on my behalf but the producer (with the dirty mind yelled "cut - we cant have that said".. Rolf then proceed to get excited & started to 'Hump him'.. I thought it best if I put Rolf into a cloakroom for a few minutes for 'time out' while we got ready to shoot again...
When the dog came out of the room, chewing on a pair of panties (not mine btw) lol.. we called it a day & the producer said to me: "How long have you been rubbing his Stump for honey?"
lol... was very funny
But seriously folks, if anyone is thinking of getting a dog or Cat.. Please please please consider going to your local shelter first, they are bursting at the seams with unwanted poochies in dire need of a good home... Once you go there, I guarantee there will more than one pair of sad eyes gazing up at you begging to be given a chance. All 3 of mine are rescue dogs & I wouldn't swap my Angels for the world.
Thanks for reading - Stay lucky Y'all x

Petite, I said 1HM because it was her post I reflected on, but it was kinda directed to all. Thanks for you said. I am a down to earth person, but I'm pretty silly myself. You are good at portraying that side of you on the forums, I am definitely not. Wish I could though. Thanks again! :-)
Sharp,
I know you were talking to Hot but I think your posts are just fine. Everyone should be able to write what they are comfortable writing. Our writing styles and posts show our true personalities. Your posts are very down to earth. I just like to come on here and relax and maybe get too silly...Many on here like your posts and personality. I do!
1HM...I think you're right about the comfort level. I'm comfortable on the forums, but come across too serious. I think mostly because it's written form, because I am not that serious in real life. Just down right awful at conveying wit over the forum...you guys do well at it...I enjoy reading all your humour.

Do mosquitos and magpies in the stand of trees around my house count as pets...how about the coyotes that hide there too, and try to trick my dogs into chasing one so they can ambush them and have one for breakfast! My Aussie/Border is too smart for that...she'd tear them to pieces if they tried! :-)
We had baby ducks and goslings but the snapping turtles keep eating them. Anybody know how to get rid of them? We've tried chicken necks on big hooks and dead fish but these things are nasty.
I told you what I would do to get rid of them.....:-)
