wwwww123 write: Computers are female. That is the only possible explanation. lololololol
[/quote_message If they are female then why do they have 'hard drives' and their capacities are maeasured in 'gigabytes and megabytes' ..Dracula must have it for dinner..and storms at you with 'commands' with exclamation marks and 'bullets' and 'troubleshoot' and a whole host of masculine jargon and devices.. REST my case
MY philosophy too..if you can read you could do almost anything..except this darn computer 'photoshop' program which I am doing my exam project on..whoever say logic and common sense is easy on computer??
I fear Common sense is not so common...when it comes to this ridiculous systems they invent and those bloody jargons!!
I fostered this same philososophy in my daughters and as a result they, not their husbands, are the ones that can do almost anything. Their attitude is: how hard can it be, I am smart, I can learn to do it. If you really want to handicap your kids, let them be a bum.
Thanks for the insight ..I absolutely agree with you..that earning their own way is an eye-opener to real life experiences ..and any skill learnt is a skill that will be of some use in the future.
My take on kids working, from my own experiences as a kid.
I developed the confidence to tackle almost anything as a adult because I had the opportunity to work on many things as a kid. The more you learn, the more you are likely to tackle things that you know nothing about. I repaired my first car by buying a repair book and taking the broken part apart and observing what was wrong. Before that, it was my bicycle or lawnmower. I recently taught two young minority brothers, age 22 and 24, to lay ceramic tile, carpets, paint, concrete finishing, etc. who had never been allowed to work in their own home because they didn't know how and might mess it up. We even tore apart some broken computers and fixed them. Now their parents are allowing them to repair things arround their house.
If you are not allowed to work, you will never gain the confidence that will later be needed on in life and the workplace. The best type of work is something that will develop their mechanical skills and require that they use their brain and eyes. I am not sure that flipping burgers is good enough.
Also, by working, they will learn the value of money at the same time, and learn to appreciate and not destroy cars, clothes, tools, or whatever they buy with their money. I am not saying not help them go to college, but don't do it all or they will not appreciate the opportunity, nor major in something useful.

As someone who is raised in the Asia where parents give a lot to their children and tend to pay 100% of all school fees and maintenance right till they graduate , I am surprised and actually think it is agreat idea that most American kids have to earn their own keep and school fees from a young age..so my question is when do you send them out to earn their own money ..and would you pay for all 100% of their college fees?
www. you must be stocking up Viagra by the carton loads..unless you also invest in their pharmeceutical shares..
I am talking about your normal life insurance to cover the usual wear and tear , not occupational insurance..
so I won't have much chance of making my 2% then since you won't have much overtime left..
Well gigolo-ing does requires survival skills. Some of those clients get really wild and crazy. It is also one of those uninsurable profession. More dangerious than handling high explosives. Much shorter fuze.
