Just about every war in history was fought over religion in some manner. Religion is a topic that some say should not be debated. I disagree that religion should be discussed but maybe not on a forum like millionairematch. It is easy to get emotional over your beliefs and yes people do take it personally.

Spoil you are wrong re the bible yet again.

Regarding masrogue and his long hair - the OLD TESTAMENT which you usually quote quite vociferously states that both men and women should NOT cut their hair in any way. Why do you think that the Chassidic Jewish community do exactly this? Why do you think that Jewish women - Chassidic - are required NOT to cut their hair, along with Jewish men who still wear part of their hair uncut????? I live near a Chassidic community and know this to be fact.

Spoil, you use the bible to your own advantage, taking this line and that, depending on what suits your purpose at the time.

Great Post. I agree completely!! God is all around us every hour of every day. Miracles are prevelent. A baby being born in itself is so miraculous. Everything happens for a reason is God's plan. I wonder why it is so easy for me to see this and others question everything. We are on this planet for such a short time...what is it going to hurt to believe? Take a chance on God and get into heaven. It certainly beats the alternative.

Why don't you people all go meditate or something!

Believe or not to believe? Look, if you have lived on this planet for any length of time and can't honestly admit that you have seen or experienced some God given miracle in your life then, you need to experience some God given miracle in your life! My faith is impenetrable to the opinions of others. I was once driving sown the road on a beautiful, clear summer day and a tree c. 6' around fell on my car, I drove through the branches as it fell, the trunk missed me by inches. WOW you might say and I did too as I looked in my rear view mirror. Well guess what? The next day in the EXACT SPOT an ambulance fliipped over and hit an oncoming car head on killing three people. this was a lightly traveled road mind you. Anyhow, my point is that, havn't we all experienced something like this in our life that exposes our true POWERLESSNESS over events that can only be explained by a power greater than ourselves, namely GOD?

REligion has been referred as man's opiate or man's crutches in times of weakness...it has also been the source of wars and strife..discord and peace..since all religion teach a semblance of goodness or at least civic obedience..

And it is also the origins of sexual inequality...anyone wondered if God could be a she? At least in some EAstern religion, there are alot of FEmale goddesses..at least there is acknowledgement that women could be an omnipotent power too...

1hotmomma no, I was responding to Petiteone's post. Why would you reply to my post since I didn't address my post to you? You did say you weren't mocking and making fun of what other's believe, right? Was just wondering about that since you were the first one to speak up. Must've been a reason.

PetiteOne, like you, I was taken to sunday school and church from the time I was a small child up until I was a young teen. I didn't want to attend Sunday services anymore. Not because I didn't still believe in a higher power than myself. I just found sitting that long listening to the sermons were boring. There's one thing I need to say however, after reading a few of these posts. I won't mention any names because I don't want to start an online religious war. I'm just asking those that are laughing and mocking the ones who do believe, to please don't. The statements mocking religion and God(or whatever you choose to call this higher power than us) is very upsetting. If you don't believe in God or any higher power than humans, that is your right. But why sit here laughing, chuckling, and mocking, and making fun of those who do believe, and what they believe in? I can't imagine anyone in their right minds actually believing we humans...what? Created ourselves? Crawled out of the muck of the earth and evolved into what we are today, with beating hearts and breath that sustains us? Mankind may be capable of many things, but creating a human being and owning the patent to their creation, is NOT one of them. Our mothers could not have given us life, had not a higher power given her the ability to do so. I don't need to attend church services to understand and believe that there is a higher power working through us, that gives and sustains life. Some call that higher power 'God,' some call it 'Mohamd,' etc, etc. Please, out of respect for others, don't mock their beliefs and what they believe in. It's very rude and very insensitive.

You won't find directions to hell on Mapquest because hell is separation from God and his loving kindness. Heaven is being with God and his loving kindness. It is not enough to be a 'good' person without following God's will and learning about God by reading His Word and knowing His Word - Jesus Christ. God alone can judge. No Father would turn away his children. If they turn away from Him He will not force them to return. Remember the story of the prodigal son!

I will always believe in God. I was raised Catholic and forced to go to church every Sunday. I changed to a Luthern when my children were born. I was always told there was a God and made to believe that but when my first born came into the world I truly knew God was my Savior. No one can prove anything...it is all about believing.
