    Sp07,
In Jude it says to "contend for the faith.." and I have to admit, you are doing good at that--but you're doing it in an unacceptable manner. When the pharisees attacked Jesus with questions, intending to trap Him, he didn't turn around and quote scripture and then make personal attacks on who they were. He asked them a question in return, causing them to think deeper on what it was that they believed. Please remember, "speak the truth in love" not in hate or anger.

    Alberto
If God wanted us to know "everything" about Him He would do so. He gave us the Bible and our lives. If you look for signs of God, they are all around. There is no absolute proof about anything. He tests our faith here on earth. He knows there will be people that won't believe or don't know what to think. None of us have ever been to heaven so no, we can't prove anything. People can believe the Bible is the Word and I do, but it is not proof enough for everyone. We are all individuals and have the ability to believe or not to believe.

Hi! A Giftfrom heaven, you are as your name implies a true gift from heaven I would love to hear more about your spirituality and about speaking with the deceased I think that is so awesome and I do know there is a God its what gets me through my days everyday! You are an amazing woman and please do not let people like Spoils get to you he obviously is a very unhappy person , people that believe in God and love God do not call others names and are not angry and bitter as we all know this and I do know that these are discussion forums but obviously not everyone understands what fair means so I just wanted to say I do admire you and many of the other intelligent ladies on here.

SP07, you can't "make heaven." There is no quota that you, or any of us others, could ever meet.

    1hotmama,

Nowhere in the Bible does it teach to worship your mother. In fact, all throughout scriptures, it tells us that we should have no others gods before the One God who created us and if we choose to ignore Him, we'll burn in hell (see Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23).

As far as issues concerning men having long hair this was a law set up in those times to help keep a fine distinction of sexes (1 Cor. 11:14). Women were to keep their hair covered and long and the men were to keep theirs short and uncovered. This was a law that was set up even before Christianity was established. It was a practice of the Jews and so far as I know, still is.

Woman were allowed to speak freely, although if they spoke wrongfully against their husbands or God, they could be stoned (don't quote me on that, I can't remember where I read it but I know it wasn't in the Bible). The only place in the Bible where it mentions that women should be silent was during the church meetings. The reason for this being that talking, from any person, was a distraction and kept others from being focused on the message that was being delivered (1 Cor. 14:34).

You were right on one thing though, women were required to be obedient to the men, unless he was asking her to break one of God's laws (Eph. 5:24). The cool thing about this is, although God commanded the women to serve their husbands, he also commanded the husbands to love the woman more than they loved their own bodies (Eph. 5:28). Wouldn't it be nice if a few more guys in the world adopted that policy? It'd make me want to be obedient to them!

1hotmama, don't worry. After reading all the mudslinging going on in this forum recently, I think I'm just going to sit back and watch for awhile lol. This is getting way too serious I think, and even too much so for me :-D

Just about every war in history was fought over religion in some manner. Religion is a topic that some say should not be debated. I disagree that religion should be discussed but maybe not on a forum like millionairematch. It is easy to get emotional over your beliefs and yes people do take it personally.

    vahaas (Male , 35)
Great Post. I agree completely!! God is all around us every hour of every day. Miracles are prevelent. A baby being born in itself is so miraculous. Everything happens for a reason is God's plan. I wonder why it is so easy for me to see this and others question everything. We are on this planet for such a short time...what is it going to hurt to believe? Take a chance on God and get into heaven. It certainly beats the alternative.

Why don't you people all go meditate or something!

Believe or not to believe? Look, if you have lived on this planet for any length of time and can't honestly admit that you have seen or experienced some God given miracle in your life then, you need to experience some God given miracle in your life! My faith is impenetrable to the opinions of others. I was once driving sown the road on a beautiful, clear summer day and a tree c. 6' around fell on my car, I drove through the branches as it fell, the trunk missed me by inches. WOW you might say and I did too as I looked in my rear view mirror. Well guess what? The next day in the EXACT SPOT an ambulance fliipped over and hit an oncoming car head on killing three people. this was a lightly traveled road mind you. Anyhow, my point is that, havn't we all experienced something like this in our life that exposes our true POWERLESSNESS over events that can only be explained by a power greater than ourselves, namely GOD?

REligion has been referred as man's opiate or man's crutches in times of weakness...it has also been the source of wars and strife..discord and peace..since all religion teach a semblance of goodness or at least civic obedience..

And it is also the origins of sexual inequality...anyone wondered if God could be a she? At least in some EAstern religion, there are alot of FEmale goddesses..at least there is acknowledgement that women could be an omnipotent power too...

1hotmomma no, I was responding to Petiteone's post. Why would you reply to my post since I didn't address my post to you? You did say you weren't mocking and making fun of what other's believe, right? Was just wondering about that since you were the first one to speak up. Must've been a reason.

PetiteOne, like you, I was taken to sunday school and church from the time I was a small child up until I was a young teen. I didn't want to attend Sunday services anymore. Not because I didn't still believe in a higher power than myself. I just found sitting that long listening to the sermons were boring. There's one thing I need to say however, after reading a few of these posts. I won't mention any names because I don't want to start an online religious war. I'm just asking those that are laughing and mocking the ones who do believe, to please don't. The statements mocking religion and God(or whatever you choose to call this higher power than us) is very upsetting. If you don't believe in God or any higher power than humans, that is your right. But why sit here laughing, chuckling, and mocking, and making fun of those who do believe, and what they believe in? I can't imagine anyone in their right minds actually believing we humans...what? Created ourselves? Crawled out of the muck of the earth and evolved into what we are today, with beating hearts and breath that sustains us? Mankind may be capable of many things, but creating a human being and owning the patent to their creation, is NOT one of them. Our mothers could not have given us life, had not a higher power given her the ability to do so. I don't need to attend church services to understand and believe that there is a higher power working through us, that gives and sustains life. Some call that higher power 'God,' some call it 'Mohamd,' etc, etc. Please, out of respect for others, don't mock their beliefs and what they believe in. It's very rude and very insensitive.

You won't find directions to hell on Mapquest because hell is separation from God and his loving kindness. Heaven is being with God and his loving kindness. It is not enough to be a 'good' person without following God's will and learning about God by reading His Word and knowing His Word - Jesus Christ. God alone can judge. No Father would turn away his children. If they turn away from Him He will not force them to return. Remember the story of the prodigal son!

I will always believe in God. I was raised Catholic and forced to go to church every Sunday. I changed to a Luthern when my children were born. I was always told there was a God and made to believe that but when my first born came into the world I truly knew God was my Savior. No one can prove anything...it is all about believing.
