I've noticed a lot of men have dogs as pets and I have a cat. Has anyone managed to keep both pets at peace in one household?

Yes, best if you introduce them as youngsters; it all depends on their temperament. Slow introduction and supervision. If they click? the cat will rule!!

Sometimes they can be friends...the best of friends, in other cases no, absolutely not. My friend's dog just killed her neighbor's cat the other day, they threatened to take my friend to court, it's sad for everyone.

Yes. I have both and it´s no problem.
The trick is to introduse them inside and not let the dog shase the cat in any surcumstases. Then they need some time....
