Tired of All the Fraud/Scammers Message Board

There is such a Blog, Bepositive. It's Counselor's "Scammers." Although, it seems that since I was on here last, something happened to it to cause MM Counselor to have to restart it. Everyone 6 or 8 months or so, the blog goes kaflooey for reasons I'm not privy to and has to be re-started.

Keep your eye on it, though. Counselor is usually way ahead of most of us in finding the scammers and sooner or later they will be up on her Scammers blog.

@ BPOSITIVE---Hey Lady! Long time... Hope you are doing well..

I don't normally head this way in forum, but bored right now.. Sorry to see you have had your dealings w/ the scums of the earth! I haven't had those issues on this site, however, one time many moons ago I did on the site that has "the most marriages!" LOL.. And as so many state, NIGERIA was mentioned .. but it was his WIFE that died.. and his son, of course, lived with his mother while he worked.. He even called me on the phone and when he did.. I told him.. "You sound black.." (nothing against this.. but the picture was of a handsome white man I thought I was speaking with.. ) Then, he mentioned something about being stuck in Nigeria.. and could not leave due to taxes on exports? and he needed $500... Now he already knew I had no money!! But let me tell you what.. As soon as I heard that.. "Well.. I best not repeat what I said.. after all .. I am a Princess! LOLOL.. So yes, makes me disheartened as well.. But I do try and "B POSITIVE!" ;)

    I DO wonder however...
WHAT ABOUT THE POOR MEN WHOSE PICTURES ARE BEING USED FOR FRAUD?? There are pictures of ppl who may not be scammers at all who's pictures are being utilized for fraudulent purposes!

HI JENKNEEE...I am more concerned of what happened to you w/ hackers.. Well.. I just don't get the whole hacking thing anyway.. I mean.. What does a hacker get out of it? MM does not store credit card numbers etc.. ?? Sorry you had to start all over.. But perhaps it will be a fresh new start! This is always good! And I do agree with BPositive as well. You do show excellent writing skills and though we have not always 100% agreed.. I am all for high fiving someone I feel is worthy! So I'll hop in that band wagon with BP!! LOL;)

    @ USER NOT AVAILABLE.. LOL..
Not a clue what you mean by Bathroom pictures? I take my own picture in a mirror often, as I have no one else to take a pic of me and I prefer to show the onlookers my most recent photo. (men and women.. I don't hide from women.. I adore most women here.. and have several woman and men friends I've met in person from this site!!) WHY do I take pictures often.. Mens' most often complaint.. (I've been online dating for over 12 years off and on..) Men complain.. WOMEN NEVER LOOK LIKE THEIR PICTURES.. They use outdated pics and have gained 20 pounds.. I like to show new pic every few weeks to show I am still me.. and still in a size 3! I also got verified by my license to prove I am me!! I think some men do mirror pics because most men hate having their picture taken.. I can just see a man saying to his bud.. "Yo Mike.. can you take a pic for me so I can post it on a date site!" LOLOL They don't exactly operate like women! They probably don't even tell their buddies they are on date sites! BUT... most women would be like, "NO Sally. Not THAT picture.. Your butt looks fat. Let's take another one!" HeeHee

@ OTHER USER NOT AVAILABLE. Wasn't certain of question.. BUT.. I see nothing wrong with a woman seeking a man who is financially stable.. I seek a man who is stable in all areas.... and I have everything BUT finances to offer him. I am smart, witty, attractive, take care of myself.. (mostly.. LOL) and am ready to have a commitment in my life, as my trials have shown me what this means.. Now I in no way feel a man must be "rich".. But money brings stability.. and stability is the one thing I desire in my life that I have not had for some time. What would I call myself? A genuine woman seeking love with stability in all areas and a better life for myself with a man who compliments me and enhances my life! :)

I agree that's a good way of killing a possible relationship, when someone keeps asking you for money. And I had my share of those too.

First, I will correct my statement because I meant to say that Im attracted to older men. Also, I was explaining because some men responded to the topic (scammers) by saying that if it was a woman then her age would be young, less pics. and that they would only have access to standard features on this site. I will admit Im young but not looking to scam. I have sent a message or two and got no reply. I will say that Im still enjoying the site and wish everyone here happiness and prosperity for 2012

Loved these bloggs on scammers as mine is being scammed already as a newbie in MM them rogues always Black African (WITHOUT PREJUDICE)and sometimes wrong hair colour is BLONDE always orginating from Grays UK with no photo and if requested still none submitted for several days and if over a week, the person is blocked sent to MM. I reckon it is still the same one person waiting to start woes and sorrows story tale playing on emotion if the target victim happen to be vulnerable.

This blogg sure gels together the safe practise on the net ISO as I am sure a lot are sincere and truthful. So never give up. Keep on SEARCH even if it is only just a friend or acquaintance it turns out to be.

    Quoting Kechia2000:

I will say Im alot younger than the men I have sent messages to but only because Im attracted to younger men. Not looking to scam anyone or ask for anything. Im genuinely looking for love and romance that will last a lifetime. So, ladies and gentle please be careful and happy new year!

It is strange that you feel the need to explain yourself Kechia?  That alone puts up red flags....m.m.m.m.m

Even the scammers infiltrate the Blog about them. Interesting. One of hundreds emailed me 2 days ago.
After some accusatory remarks I made (intentional) they said they were going to get "an ACLU Attorney" and FBI to hunt me down, admitting they were a man and had scammed a guy out of a phone.
I find that quite humorous. The ACLU represents CITIZENS civil rights that have been violated, not law breakers. I reported her to support and they DID nothing.

Very well said, Wings.  I too have found it east to detect the scammers.  I talk to them, report them and move on.  Your comment is very well written as if your profile (yes I read them all).  I hope this holiday brings you together with a specail man and much happiness.  If you get a chance, try chatting in the chat room, there are many nice people there.  I have made some wonderful friends on this site but so far no lucl in finding "Mr. Right".
    Happy Holidays

I think I chatted with the same guy.....did he say he was in the service in Iraq?  I hate when scammers try to tug at our hearts by saying they are servicemen.   Think of it this way, Jen, you have a clean slate and can now type new and refreshing things on your profile.  You have wonderful writting skills......take care.

Hello and Merry Christmas to Bepositive, along with anyone else who could be reading this :)

Yes, like a few others have stated on this site there is romancescam.com but it is pretty time consuming to look at the photos. They used to have another site (forgot the name) that they mentioned on romancescam where you could scan the photo of your questionable guy/girl and it would find the match if there was one of that photo. Unfortunitely the site crashed and may be down permanently.

There are definitely a lot of red flags to look for, besides what has already been mentioned, is if someone calls me "Pretty, Dear or Queen", it is always a bad sign except "Dear" is sometimes used by normal men, lol.

If anyone knows other sites that help for free,I would appreciate knowing. I can say that if u get an email sent to ur regular address, check the IP address of the email, they are usually a dead giveaway to their location. Each computer has a code that is unique so it can be traced with some exceptions.

By the way Bepositive, thanks for the compliment about my writing skills, I appreciate the acknowledgement :) ttyl

I have definitely come across several scammers but this last Monday I was really surprised to see someone had hacked into my account on here.

There was a man's photo actually pending on MY profile!! I phoned this site and felt I was treated poorly at best. She immediately suspended my acct.. She gave me no time to copy my profile or remove my forum threads or anything.

I am starting from scratch on here today :(

Bepostive: I think we need to dedicate a FORUM/BLOG to expose these men and women that try to cheat us out of money, love, and just waste our time. I am on this site to truly find love and don't want to invest my precious time on someone who wants to take advantage.

You can also check out: cheaterville, reportyourex, dontdatehimgirl...to weed out people who are predators, cheaters & abusers...

I get 3-5 scammers a week.  I have gotten good at spotting them and report them to MM's Customer Service.  In defense of MM, they really do take care of these frauds after you report them.  They are pretty obvious from my viewpoint--one photo, younger, poor grammar and punctuation, obscure location, give their email immediately, and are often 20 years younger than I am.  If you make the mistake of not recognizing at first the next level is overly mushy emails, dead mother (father or both), traveling overseas, speak of romance, and the continud poor grammar and punctuation.  Anything beyond that point, they will be hitting you up for money, plane ticket, etc.  I'm at the "Yawn... oh another scammer" stage.  Every once in awhile I fail to catch them but I use Google Reverse Image or TinEye to reverse image their photo.  I also check out the on Pipl, Whoozy, or PeekYou.  You can generally flush them out that way.  Good luck.
