...are not hard to attract or as rare as some women of color believe. As a British Caribbean woman who happens to be American-born and has lived overseas for many years, I see things differently.
You get exactly what you expect. I do not notice if I am the only woman of color in a room. I am 100% comfortable in any ambient. The funny thing is that everyone else does notice and points it out to me.
I am tired of hearing women say white men, especially wealthy ones, don't like women of color. That has not been my experience. People like whom they are attracted to. I have dated men of all races, yet I have a very strong preference for white men. It's because I have always had a magical affinity with them on all levels, something I never had with men of other races. I am true to myself and open about it.
This has nothing to do with being racist. Having had such consistent affinity, over time, you become more physically attracted to that race or look. It's quite normal.
So the next time a white man passes you by, don't take it personally. There could be many reasons, don't focus on race.
Men and women, please express yourselves. The Island Goddess would love to hear your views on the matter.
I happen to feel a strong attraction for white men. I don't think of myself as being of any color and white men are attracted to me just like other men. I feel beyond that and attract others like myself.
I can't help to take the pride of this as for me, I never had been bothered by my skin colour or cultural backgrounds in meeting new people. Infact when i come to think about it, in my past i have interracted very well with apx. 5 people from all the continents and my social circle is getting more and more mixed up as the days go by.
For the unfortunate affected ones, I would say it's individual case. Not sure about the up bringing if is 100% effectived, but i strongly bealive it could also play a role e.g What you were taught or experienced. Peer preasure too. though one can rule that out after some times because at the end of the day, what you let yourself bealive is what you become.
Remember the teacher back whenever, 'Negative poles attract each other' one should try to apply that too in life and truely seek what he / she is missing without having to add unnecessary complications.
@ Orlando, nice educative quote though i would also without offence partly disagree. I can bet doesn't apply to some countries and in some cases is the opposite of the whole concept. Allow me to put this on the high rate of human change in believe and response.
There are wealthy men of all races who date women of all races.
If you want the time of day from a black man, date a white man. It's amazing how some (not all but some) black men will all of a sudden start noticing you even the ones who don't date black women.
Not ever white man is going to part the Red Sea as if he's Moses for a black woman and his reasons may not be because of the race of the woman. Ever man has a certain type of woman he likes regardless of race. He may not give any visible signs of liking a black woman because she may just not be his type of woman. It could be that the woman chest size is too big or too small. Some guys don't like the saline boob look. Maybe she's too thin or too thick for him. She could have long hair, and he likes short hair. She may look like his ex. He may not be over his ex. He could be married or have a significant other. He may like more natural looking women, and she may have three layers of makeup on her face. She may dress too conservative or lack the skills to match, and he could like his women to knee length skirts with heels.
You shouldn't care what other people think. Forget what others think or say, because being with someone you enjoy and adore overrules being home alone. There are some black women who are going to die lonely because they are waiting for hell to freeze over (waiting on a good black man who's not already taken).
Several studies have suggested that people are generally attracted to people who look like them
and they generally evaluate others on their own ethnic or racial group as being more attractive. There seems to be two exceptions--Black men and Asian women, who are more likely to marry outside their race than any other ethnic group.
Simply amazing dear. I kind of feel the same here. I live ina predominantly white state and get that vibe sometimes. But i have learned to see beyond color. Always the Colored one during meetings but guess what it dont matter.
Reve2, You stated that love should never be about skin color, you need to pass that message on to black men. You know they have the lighter skin/darker skin complex. Pass that message on to them.
This is so true. If you are confident in yourself and truly love YOU, the rest will happen and you won't have time to focus on the men (regardless of color) who are passing you by, it won't matter, because so many will be stopping by!
