As we all watch countless lives being shattered in the wake of the Katrina devastation, please join me in offering prayers of love and light to strengthen and give courage to those souls left behind as they struggle to find a way to rebuild their lives.
Sometimes life seems hard to bear
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain
I would never appreciate God's love
and would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn
And my growth is slow
Sometimes I need the mountain tops
But it's in the valleys I grow.
I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do
But I am very sure of one thing
My Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ upon the cross
He went through the valley of death
His victory was Satan's loss.
Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.
Continue to strengthen me
Lord, And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find the way.
Thank you for the valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow
Thanks Dun. Here's another one I came across and want to share:
Let us be still an instant
and forget all things we ever learned
all thoughts we've ever had
and every preconception
of what things mean and what their purpose is.
Let us remember not our own ideas
of what the world is
for we do not know.
Let every image held of everyone
be loosened from our minds
and swept away.
Be innocent of judgment
unaware of any thoughts of evil
or of good that ever crossed
your mind of anyone.
....from a Course in Miracles
When we let go of what we believe to be the truth, and what we might consider the right way, we open up to seeing the world in God's way.
Do nothing. Just go to God.
