    Funny Morning Prayer..

    Dear Lord,

    So far today Lord, I've done alright. I haven't gossiped, haven't lost my temper, haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, nor over-indulgent. And I'm very thankful to you for that.

    But..........In a few minutes, Lord, I'm probably going to need a lot more help because I'm going to get out of bed!!!!!

    Only trust someone who can see these three things in you;

    The sorrow behind your smile,

    the love behind your anger,

    and the reason behind your silence.

    “Girls are like apples...the best ones are at the top of the trees. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when, in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree...”

    When I shut my mouth and turn to walk away, it doesn't mean you've won. It simply means your stupid a** isn't worth any more of my time.

    My favorite saying;

    Yesterday is History
    Tomorrow is a Mystery
    Today is a Gift
    That's why we call it The Present.

    The orginal version;

    "The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present."

    Most of All

    Thanksgiving Day brings to mind
    the blessings in our lives
    that usually go unnoticed:
    a home that surrounds us
    with comfort and protection;
    delicious food, for pleasure
    in both eating and sharing;
    clothes to snuggle up in,
    books and good entertainment
    to expand our minds;
    and freedom to worship our God.
    Most of all we are thankful
    for our family and friends,
    those treasured people
    who make our lives extra special.
    You are part of that cherished group.
    On Thanksgiving, (and every day)
    we appreciate you.

    Another poem ,both are by Joanna Fuchs

    Thanksgiving Delights

    On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
    Our blessings all year through,
    For family we dearly love,
    For good friends, old and new.

    For sun to light and warm our days,
    For stars that glow at night,
    For trees of green and skies of blue,
    And puffy clouds of white.

    We’re grateful for our eyes that see
    The beauty all around,
    For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
    And ears to hear each sound.

    The list of all we’re grateful for
    Would fill a great big book;
    Our thankful hearts find new delights
    Everywhere we look!

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone :)

    Before you assume, learn the facts.
    Before you judge, understand why.
    Before you hurt someone, feel.
    Before you think, speak.

    The Man In The Glass by Peter "Dale" Winbrow Sr

    When you get what you want in your struggle for self
    And the world makes you king for a day,
    Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
    And see what that man has to say.
    For it isn't your father or mother or wife
    Whose judgment upon you must pass.
    The fellow whose verdict counts most in you life
    Is the one staring back from the glass.
    You may be like Jack Horner and chisel a plum
    And think you're a wonderful guy.
    But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
    If you can't look him straight in the eye.
    He's the fellow to please-never mind all the rest,
    For he's with you clear to the end.
    And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
    If the man in the glass is your friend.
    You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
    And get pats on the back as you pass.
    But your final reward will be heartache and tears
    If you've cheated the man in the glass

    The End.

    I love this one. I do have add that there is one other whose judgement I must pass and that is God's.

    The Cross Room

    The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out,he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord,I can't go on" he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear" The Lord replied, "My son,if you can't bear it's weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door, and pick out any cross you wish," The man was filled with relief, "Thank- you Lord," he sighed, and he did as he was told. Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord" he whispered, And the Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

    Description of love is from the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin:

    When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake,(volcano would be a better word) and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away... (Iannis to Pelagia)

    First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.  Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them so I did not speak out.  Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish so I did not speak out.  And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak for me.

    One of the most romantic songs in my opinion is Van Morrison's  "Someone like you"  ,you can find the song on you tube , just put  the title then type the word "original" in the search bar.  It was in Bridget Jone's Diary, which also adds to my opinion of it.
    "Someone like you will make it all worthwhile... Baby, the best is yet to come... Someone exactly like you."
